for those of you who have picked up a u250, i have some questions. can you use it with a bypass? can you still play video on the unit from a phone? do you lose the appradio function?

are you able to use a bypass and the u250? also can you still display video and use the u250?

i can confirm this happens with my 8500 and iphone 5, so annoying

please update us with the nav add on and bypass, i am curious if you can use the bypass and the u250

no you dont need to disconnect anything from the back of the unit. for me i had to remove the cable from my phone, turn bluetooth off, and turn source to off (double check rear source is off too, swipe left) at that point it allowed me to switch to iphone (AV)

Does anyone know the size needed for backgrounds on the 8500bhs? i have tried a couple from my z130bt and they didnt work. the images i have been able to get to work have been too small and had a huge boarder

waze seems a a bit strange and unintuitive. Igo is pretty awesome, my only gripe is that if you get a text or anything else and it exits the app you have to re-open it and go through all the screens again.

it works pretty well but it does have its quirks. its annoying that while using carmediaplayer i can use the physical track forward or back on the unit or my steering controls, you have to actually touch it on the screen which seems strange to me

does anyone know the image size needed for a background on the 8500bhs? i have tried a couple and either the unit wont recognize the image or its not the correct size.

so after a bit of trouble with my jailbreak i am now able to use appradio with my iphone 5 which is all well and good, but i also have an ipod classic and i would like to be able to use it via usb2 but when i plug it in while set to iphone (digital AV) i get an incompatible message and nothing happens. it seems really annoying and poorly designed that i would have to disconnect all cables, turn off blue tooth, and switch back to "others" to be able to play via standard ipod

the unit works pretty well, i piad the $60 for igo and the appradio add on. it works pretty well though it is annoying that you cant use the physical track forward or backward from the appradiocontrol app. one other strange thing is not being able to use an ipod in usb2 while set to iphone digital av, it says "incompatible" and wont do anything.

yes it is working now, one of my jailbreak apps was stopping it and i deleted everything that wasn't necessary. i still have to figure out which app it was

i will look into igo for sure, i had previously downloaded i TV Out but i had already removed it before i every installed the head unit. i will have to see if any extensions are still ther

so i just had a pretty big break through! my pone crashed while i was using it and it was in safe mode, so i figured i might as well plug it in and see if there is any change. soon as i launched app mod it immediately worked! so it appears my phone being jailbroken is in fact the real issue here, i am going to remove everything i have added and see if i can narrow down what has caused the issue here. what appears to be the best navigation app? also what other apps are must haves?

yeah that is the plan, i also purchased a 4th generation ipod touch to test out. the ipod will be here tomorrow so i can test that out too, if that works i can tether the ipod touch off my iphone 5 until i figure this all out

ah yes i was reading that about the u220 and bypass's not working with it, i will probably just stick to the appmode once i can get it working

ok so the new unit arrived today, plugged it in and got the exact same issue as before. i think at this point it is safe to say that the unit is not the problem and it is either my phone or one of the cables. i'll be returning the new one tomorrow, at least now i know that the unit isn't the issue. i'll be going to best buy on wednesday to buy a new cable, at that point if it doesn't work i will know it is my phone. i should have access to another iphone 5 this afternoon as well

once i can work out the bugs with my iphone 5 and my x8500bhs i next want to do the add on gps. has anyone used this or a similar add on from pioneer? i would love to hear any feedback

ok so i just went for a drive and the dvd playback works flawlessly with the bypass, no issues with the nagscreen or anything. im really crossing my fingers that the unit itself is the issue, the second one i purchased arrives monday so we will see what happens

you may be correct... yesterday when i cut the bypass off and hard wired the green to my parking brake i was able to activate the tab for auto EQ, but appmode still didn't work. i was able to play video via the video out that happens through appmode on my iphone 5 while on the freeway (my passenger was testing everything) but i havent tried a dvd while in motion. i am going to do that here shortly and see if the bypass is working in that regard. i ordered a second unit from amazon, i figure if mine is bad i just return my defective unit and keep the new one and if the new one disp

at this point it has to be my radio, i have tried EVERY single thing that could be causing it. its not my bypass didnt work with iphone 5 or 3rd generation ipod touch tried resetting both the unit and my iphone tried deleting bluetooth info tried different lightning cables and hdmi cables nothing worked

that is what i just tried to no avail, i am going to go back out and try one more time to see if there is anything i have missed

well at this point i am furious... i purchased the cd-iu201s cable to connect my ipod touch to see if i could get appmode to work with my 3rd generation touch. it connects and work perfectly but again it does the exact same thing my iphone 5 is doing (except not mirroring my display, its just a black screen) it goes to the screen where is says the application is starting and has the ignore button on the bottom, yet just as with my iphone 5 it never launches the appmode. at that point i thought it was the bypass so i cut the parking wire and attached it to ground just like it should b
