Does anyone know if there is and where is it located?? Anyone please?!!?

Hey guys, I'm a fellow "Newbie" D3 owner and tomorrow I am going to attempt to install it in my 02 explorer. I want to retain my steering wheel controls but when I was buying the unit I was told that I would not need an adapter for the controls to work and that it would be a simply "plug and operate" situation. Is this true or would I need this PAC-SWI-PS that I've seen everyone using?? Secondly if anyone has any info as to where the VSS wire for my truck is located if it has any?? Much thanks!!
