    HIssing sound

Its happened to me a couple of times. The first was when I first installed in and whenever I would press a button it would hiss. When I checked all my speaker cables one had come loose enough and the copper wire was exposed to pick up the hiss sound from the button press. The second time was recently when I installed my bluetooth and ipod interface and I thought it was the wires again but I had the mic plugged into the wrong 3.5mm jack. Thats all I can think of.
  2. Awesome, thanks for the help. I will give it a shot tomorrow.
  3. I was wondering if anybody had tried burning a disc with apple lossless format files if it would be transferred to the hard drive? I have all of my music (with the exception of the Protected AAC files I've bought from iTunes) in lossless and I'd like to transfer some favorites to the hard drive on the z2. I was wondering if it would work, and if not, what would be a good file format to use. I know that mp3s won't be transferred so are there any file formats that will? From what I read in the manual it sounded like you basically needed the actual cd and nothing else would work. I've search
  4. Also, with the classic, you will need to buy an apple certified av cable. The older models will work fine with any cable, but the classics need an actual apple cable, even after firmware updates for the ipod...at least in my experience anyway.
  5. In case anybody was interested, got my new one installed and works great!
  6. The guy at Pioneer was amazed that a pop-up came up saying that it can't position due to hardware and his only recommendation was to send it out for repair or take it back to where I got it...
  7. Thanks for the response. It has never worked. When I put it on the roof I still had my dash apart but the unit was completely in and I was trying to find a place where the antenna would work. When I wasn't getting any signal I opened the sun roof and put the antenna on the roof just to see if it would work and got nothing still. I have unplugged the antenna and plugged it back in with the click. I have reset, unplugged the power from the unit completely then plugged it back in and got nothin, not even one satellite. It says "cannot position due to hardware" when I check the connections s
  8. Anybody have any ideas? I'm going to call Pioneer because I still haven't been able to get anything...I don't think I missed anything installing it, but I could be wrong. I haven't had time to work on it lately and the weather has been too cold to be tearing apart the dash, so I'm just using it as a way to play my iPod in the car, but nothing else. My brother owns an installation company and I tried his suggestions. I'm just hoping that I don't have to replace the whole unit...an antenna wouldn't be too bad to replace, but I hope that its not the connection on the unit itself. Again, than
  9. I just finished installing my Z2 in a 2003 Volkswagen Psssat and everything works but the navigation. I have it bypassed and an av cable running from my ipod to the back. The radio, ipod, dvd are all working perfectly, but I can't get the gps to see any satellites at all. I originally had the antenna under the dash but moved it to the roof when I got no signal. I've reset, unplugged and plugged back in, I've driven around to get a clear view of the sky, and I can't manage to get anything. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.
