Just finished installing an AVIC-6100NEX into my Mustang. Went with the USB & HDMI cables using the Lightning digital AV adapter because I thought that's what was required. Got a 'USB incompatible' (or something like that) when trying to select USB 1 as the source. Removed the adapter and went straight into my iPhone 6 with the Lightning USB cable, and everything seems to work fine.
1. Am I losing any functionality by not using the HDMI cable and adapter?
2. Any ideas why I got the error message when using the adapter?
