  1. Yeah, I can't think of any solution besides deleting the profile, BTW, how did you do that? The Z3 keeps a history of phones that you paired and you can't remove it.

I'm thinking of going the jawbone 2 route too. As much as I love the bluetooth in the Z3 in stand still or low speed driving, the caller complains of too much road noise when I drive on freeways.

There is no echo, but it just picks up too much road noise because the bluetooth in the z3 uses archaic and old BT technology.

  2. -I used Power2go which is a OEM software that came with my new notebook

-Selected to create a DATA CD

-Unzipped all the files, then place each file in the ROOT of the CD, meaning

    didn't create any folders

    -Used standard burning speed

-And made sure the session is closed.

-After the CD is Inserted, Make sure to hit the MAP button. Then the update should begin in about 20-30 seconds

    BTW, I have a Z3. Which was updated from a Z1 via Pioneer's Upgrade DVD CNDV-800HD

  3. If they DID come out with a Z4 I'd eat my underwear if they did anything other than a map update.

You didn't happen to catch the newest south park, did you? Cartman eats his underwear to avoid fighting Wendy after school :lol:

    Good episode!

  4. With the lifespan of the Z-series coming towards its 4th version, I was curious what options you think is needed that we haven't seen yet from the update DVD's. Given that we are restricted to updates that can be done via firmware only, I have some things I would like to see. Whats yours?

  5. Sounds like it was a good learning experience, as not all installers are created equal. Just because they are apparently an authorized dealer for Pioneer does not equate to them being excellent installers with adequate knowledge and experience.

Here are the bypass instructions for the D3.

When you go back, tell him the bypass is not working, if he refuses to fix it, get your money back and go to a better installer and show him the instructions on the bypass.

    Good Luck

  6. This feature works great for me. I have multiple ways I can take but I usually take a particular road. So whenever I input an address for navi guidance that goes through that area, it chooses that route in particular.

You should check to see if that option is turned ON in your settings menu.

  7. It seems like a big deal but its not. Now when in 3D mode, now you can control the 'camera' angle of the view, up and down & left and right. If you just rotate the angle all the way up to an overhead view, it looks just like the 2D did on my D3 and your current direction is always at the top of the screen

See, its those little user interface things that really make or break a deal. So in terms of the OP's question,

my vote goes for the Z3 due to screen size, faster boot up time, and well rounded features.

  8. Really, thats not good. I can't tell you how often I use the 2D map mode with Direction up because it provides a great overview of the map.

One thing I hope they add in the next Z4 update is Full screen 3D map mode.

  9. Voice recognition for Track title only works within the Album or Artist folder you are currently in.

For example, if you search for "Song Title A" in an album or artist folder that does not have that song in it, you cannot pull that song up.

What you can do is put that song in your My Favorite Mix folder, and then from there you can just use the voice recognition to up that song up.

I find it that I use the voice recognition for a particular artist, I love it cause my friends get a kick out of it since there OEM Navi's can't do that. Thats one differentiation between the Z series and the OEM navis, is that you can pull up artists and songs using voice (unless you have Microsoft Sync in your car)

BTW, you can also search by Genre too, like "Techno" and "Rap".
