  1. Typically software requests a serial number only during installation. The installation software applies an algebraic expression to the key entered to validate the key. As an example, the algorithm may define that a key entered must contain 5 numbers that have a checksum of 25, and that the key must also contain 3 letters that, when mapped into their numerical equivalents, have a sum of 42.

     

    A keygen could be created if someone had the time and resources. In order to write a keygen, the author typically uses a disassembler to look at the raw assembly code of the program they are writing the keygen for, checking either the software itself or the installer. Once they have access to the program's code, they can locate the subroutine(s) responsible for verifying that the key entered is valid. Using this knowledge, they can reverse engineer the algorithm used to generate valid keys, which is then incorporated into the keygen

  2. Looking at the Z3, it all depends on what your deal maker is.

     

     

    Here is mine

     

     

    1) Has to have a 7 inch screen

    2) HDD

     

     

    The bluetooth isn't bad, and I use the voice command from time to time.

     

     

    I do like some of the new features in the F series, but I did not want a smaller screen sized unit.

     

     

    If Pioneer was smart, they would create a hybrid unit that has a HDD , 7 Inch screen with F series type screen resolution, MSN direct, and finally a bluetooth that works!

     

    Hopefully that will be the next Z4? Maybe? :D

  3. I saw some posts about people getting interesting routes with the Z series.

     

    For me I have never encountered such error.

     

     

    I have a Z3 and all the routes have been very accurate and precise. I guess if you are unlucky you can get some bad routes if you live in a remote area.

  4. 1) Update released by pioneer that will fix the freezing issue will not affect the bypass.

     

     

    2) To update your Z1 ---> Z3, you have 2 options

     

     

    A) Buy the CNDV-800HD 2008 Update DVD Disc from Pioneer. Its $120 and will turn your Z1 to a Z3 with 2008 teleatlas maps and some changes to the interface as well. This method is great if you have tons of music on your HDD that you don't want to replace or if you don't want to touch your harddrive. This method takes 3 hours for the update but you don't have to worry about touching your harddrive and any potential issues that might arise from removing your OEM drive.

     

     

    B) Second method is consulting our forum member Garrettoomey, you can purchase a pre-loaded HDD that has the Z3 data on it and will turn your Z1 to a Z3.

     

    If you are comfortable with tweaking with your unit and taking out your harddrive, this method great. Its faster and cheaper.

  5. Volume of the mic reception I'm sure will improve you can move the mic closer to your mouth, such as A-Pillar.

     

    Also, before pairing, you should turn up the volume on the phone to the max, but you have to do this before the initial registration of the phone.

     

     

    As for the ring sound, go to volume in settings to turn the ring sound up.

  6. Yeah I agree with others, here are the issues:

     

     

    1) I'm sure the Z3 can handle some shocks and vibrations, but the OP wants to take it OFFROADING, thats clearly different from vibrations in a OEM SUV in daily driving or even spirited driving in some trails. So if you are willing to pay for a new drive, then thats your money I guess. But the real concern is not just the hard drive, excessive impact and vibrations can damage the unit internals. So its not really B.S.

     

    2) Z3 uses "map matching" where if your GPS signal is weak and your positions shows you off to the side, the Z3 will correct your position.

     

    I think there could be issues where you are off road but the Z3 will try to correct your position and place you on a nearby trail or road on the mapping.

     

    3) Z3 does have the tracking "crumb" feature but since you will be off the map, how would you set any kind of destinations? Even though the tracking crumbs are visible, you probably would not be able to utilize the navi guidance feature.

  7. You can't enter in your own Genres (like when you are entering the ID tags before burning your CD).

     

    You can only select Genres from the pre-selected list only the Z1-Z3's list of genres.

     

    So you have to assign each individual track with the genre available on the Z3's list only.

  8. Newer Hondas/Acuras do not have a Standard Double Din, behind the radio is probably the AC Ducts so you can't fit it in there. CMIIW, but some Accord owners put the double din units in the lower compartment below the radio.

     

     

    Why not do a OEM Navi Conversion? You can find the parts online and do a straight swap with the headunits.

  9. Yes, before with the Z1, when I approached a destination, the navi would say "You have arrived at your destination" about 12 feet before I even arrived to the location.

     

    I think it a combination of the 2008 TeleAtlas maps and what Pioneer apparently says the Z3 has new feature where many destinations are "Geo" Encoded to a specific location, feature called Point addressing I believe.

     

    Rather than a range of address location, now the Z3 says the voice prompts and the maps actually show a precise location rather than a range.

     

     

    Gnatgosplat, I tried to access the service menu but holding the 2 buttons with the screen down, and releasing one did not prompt the menu. Maybe someone else with a Z3 can give it a shot.
