  1. Thanks for the reply Garret Yes I reset all 3 calibration options. I can try it again I guess. I don't really have a problem hooking up the speed wire if I can find the damn thing!
  2. So ya, the system seems to work fine. I did a reset in the screen where it lists 3D calibration. Now if I go back to that screen it just says Sensor is calibrating or something like that. Also, in the Map selection area if I select the screen that shows the speedo etc I get a message over the speedo that says This function not available. The tracking works fine, I have a good GPS signal and have at least 300 miles of driving on it now. No I don't have the speed sense wire plugged in and I have never had it plugged in. The speedo has always worked, at least when it had the
  3. I was able to get the screen replaced. Easy stuff it was. Now I have something else but I think I'll start another thread on it.
  4. I posted this in the wrong section
  5. About the only thing I have going for me is as it's broken waiting for parts I decided to go ahead and get a Z3 drive "Um ya honey, that screen was only $175.00 instead of $300.00" Touch screen was $53 and garrettoomeys driver was $110.00, SWEET!!!
  6. I cant tell ya the words that flew freely out of my mouth when that happened.. Good thing the kitchen window was shut or everyone in the fam would have heard that!!
  7. This isn't meant to be a true step by step, just s quick "Look how easy this is" post. Pictures are probably huge. Sorry.. They are also backwards. Start at the bottom and go up for the pics.
  8. A good thing was the Touch screen is barely over $50.00 compared to over $300.00 for the LCD panel. http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CSX1093
  9. Turns out I broke the touch screen not the LCD. I was VERY easy to remove as well. I snapped a couple pics. Looks like they are listed upside down. Start from the bottom. And sorry they are so damn big.
  10. I'm feeling a little insecure about pushing the "Buy it" button @ Just a tad $300.00 Can anyone confirm for me that this is the correct part? http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CWX3263
  11. Found this for the Z2 http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CWX3263 Nothing for the Z1 yet though.
  12. The palm of my hand pushed against it when i was pushing on the outer edges, thought i was carefull but resituated and shifted the pressure just enough. no it will not have to go to Pioneer. replacement screens are available i just dont know where right now. ive seen it posted somewhere and i'm more than capable of replacing it.
  13. Can someone point me to a place to order a replacement screen please? I've been out there for hours running all the GPS stuff, mic, XM ect and I'm sliding it in the dash finally ready to test it out and SNAP!!! I think I may cry... Any help right now will be greatly appreciated. I'm waisted and bummed.
  14. Thanks all for your replies. I received my mounting kit today so I'm going to start running wires tonight then finish up Saturday. If all goes well I'll be listening to my XM through the Z on the way to work Monday.
  15. I needed to know so if i decide to put them in the back window i'll need to make a couple.
  16. the measurements of the metal plate the gps ant sits on. Black and looks to be either 3 or 4" sq
  17. Hey does anyone know the dims on the metal shield that comes with the antenna's
  18. Thank you sir will do. I was thinking of putting them in the back window but I would rather not run them all the way back there if possible. Also I don't time to do the full install right now so I was going to start running things like the GPS antenna's. and getting the XM tuner placed. I'm waiting for the Pioneer cage to show up so I can mount the dang thing.
  19. Ok yes I searched for quite a while but i was unable to locate an answer. What I want to know is where everyone is placing their antenna's. I just removed my Z1 from my jetta and I had both the antenna's placed in the dash on each side under a speaker cover. I had made a metal plate to go where the speaker goes and I placed the GPS and a tweeter in each. Now I'm going to install this into an 02 Passat and there are no dash speaker covers. I would rather not put them on the outer surface of the dash that would just be unsightly. I've heard of people mounting them under the dash
