  1. Has anybody encountered this. I have an 2nd gen IPOD and have it plugged into my D3. Sometimes, usually after a longer periods of times w/o driving my car, the IPOD screen on the D3 freezes up. Sometimes I can press the click wheel on the IPOD, and the display on the D3 is normal again. Other times, I actually have to unplug the IPOD and plug it back in again to fix the problem. Basically, what happens is that it seems like the D3 can not communicate with the IPOD. Its kind of nuisance to have to unplug the cable all the time.
  2. Pioneer could easily provide a software upgrade to do this. If they did, their would be no compelling reason to buy the Z2 anymore. They are not going to do anything to hurt their Z2 sales. Anybody know which SDK Pioneer uses? Is it Windows CE?

    Bypass on D3

That's the exact article I was referring to when I was asking about the mute wire pin change. Just needed confirmation.. is confirmation such a bad thing? Additionally, I didn't see any articles that definitatevly explained if it was possible to remove warning/info messages on start up. I want to go back to the installer and provide the correct information before he pulls everything apart again.
  4. I wonder if anyone has thought about the possiblity of copying the map data(on the DVD) to an IPOD. Only problem is that it would require a software hack of some kind to make the HU read from the IPOD instead of looking on the DVD drive. I guess I could have bought the Z series, but I already had an IPOD so figured it wasn't worth the extra $700.

    Bypass on D3

I had someone install my D3/Xmradio/Navtraffic/Ipod cable/Steering controls. The installer also told me that they would ground the parking brake wire so I could use nav controls while car is in motion. Everything works just fine except for the bypass. I haven't had a chance to go back to the shop to talk the installer. I did read that you have to move the "mute" wire to a differnt pin, so I wonder if this is the step he didn't do. Can somone confirm, is this the only thing the installer will have to do? Considering everything else has been installed and works fine, how muc
