  1. Vorian, After doing more research people said it will work. I just got the Lightning adaptor tonight and I am happy to report it is working fine! I have audio, track control and album art - just like my iPhone 4. Video however is not supported. I have the regular apple cable (30 pin to usb) instead of the one that came with the pioneer so I wonder if that is the difference? Anyway, happy camper for $30 as I was going to get a iPod classic for $200 or new head unit for over $1000. Now I can wait until I am ready to upgrade.
  2. Thanks for the input. It seems silly for me to buy a new pioneer to replace one that is working just because of the phone. I'm getting $200 on the trade in of my 4 so I'm wondering if my best bet is to get a iPod with the 30 pin so I can control music and see album art and connect the 6+ through Bluetooth for the phone. If I do get a new head unit I will likely wait until the new ones come out.
  3. I searched and did not see any threads. Can anyone confirm if the iphone 6 plus will work with the F90BT? Thanks!
  4. Thanks. I will look to see if I can find that. I had to back out all my mods a while ago as they caused nothing but problems. The only mod that I was interested in was the parking brake mod - I used the existing files on the AVIC and just modified that. Will the above mentioned files overwrite the files that are on the AVIC?
  5. Thanks - I was editing the file through WinRar and just replacing it. Do you know where I can find another set of files? I have the 3.0 Naviagation update.
  6. I have a F90BT and have done the software update to allow navigation usage when moving. The steps I followed are: 1) Grounded the parking brake wire 2) Updated the following section of the pioneer.ini file: [pioneer] parking_break_speed=16.0 hide_logos=1 As per the instructions, I updated this value to 128.0. The mod works fine, however I get the warning message when I hit approximatly 80 MPH (128 Km/H). I figured I would just raise the value, however it only seems to work with the value 128.0. I tried 256 and 160, and both values would cause the triangle car icon on the
  7. Thanks VBlue42. Would you say it is better than the Pioneer cable?
  8. I have a F90BT and the stock cable that came with it seems to be giving out - if it is positioned in a certain way it gets static. I am aprhensive to replace with the same cable for fear of the same issue so I was wondering if the Apple cable was any better? Is this the correct Apple cable? http://www.amazon.com/APPLE-COMPOSITE-AV-cable-ZML/dp/B004EWEX9Y/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top Any other thoughts would be apprecated as at least one of the reviews said that this cable was fragile as well. Thanks!
  9. Tonight I tried to re-install the 3.x firmware update. The navi would not go into update mode with the SD card so I chose the option to restore to factory settings from the menu. After it didn't read the card a second time I tried to re-pair my phones and now they both work! So if anyone else has this issue just choose the option to restore to factory settings. It keeps the 3.x firmware update and seems to have resolved my issue
  10. Hi all, I was hoping you can help with a frustrating issue. My F90BT's bluetooth connection has been working fine for a few years and recently when I make or receive a call I cannot hear the caller and they cannot hear me. The bluetooth connection is stable and the caller can hear some background noise but that's it. I figured it was just a bad mic so I tested it today with an adapter and my iPhone and I could do voice recordings fine. I have previously deleted the phone connection and reconnected but that did not resolve the problem. I also tried my work iPhone and had the same is
  11. I have a 3G iPhone and it charged and worked fine (sans the pixelation when you zoom in on the album art). I recently got a 3Gs as a hand me down from my sister and I plugged it in and it charged fine. Then I wiped it and installed the latest OS and it now will no longer charge and gives me the message "This device is not optimized....". This does not appear to be a hardware problem at all, rather a firmware issue. Without the charging I'm debating on keeping my 3G as I do long rides while on calls and need it to be charged. I don't want to upgrade to an iPhone 4 as that means I'
  12. I have two cars so I'm thinking of getting a navi for the 2nd one. I hardly ever drive it but I really want blue tooth and for my iPhone to charge so I'm debating if I should get the kenwood or another pioneer. The trick is to put the new unit in the lesser used car with the much better sound system (amps, speakers, sub) or in my daily driver with the factory amp and speakers. I have to say I really like the 3.0 upgrade but certian things like the backup camera delay make the function usless.
  13. Thanks VBlue. I really wonder if it has something do do wtih the resistor that's on the reverse signal wire? I am not sure if the resistor value is large enough to delay the signal from reaching the head unit or if it is just limiting the current? Overall I'm happy with the F90BT but things like this are making me seriously consider the new Kenwodd 9960. I saw a demo vid of it and the backup camera is lightning fast and can be configured to take up a portion of the screen along side the navi. Cool.
