  1. as per my previous power failure problem, i took the stereo out again and examined it to realize that the red acc cable was pulled out of its connection. with the power reestablished, i completed the bypass. as per the grounding issue for the last post - after you run the green wire from its original position to the new position, take another wire, strip one end, and wire it around a screw that's attached to the chassis or firewall. then strip the other end and insert it into the new slot you just plugged the green wire into.
  2. On my AVIC-N4, I rerouted the green parking brake wire and grounded the mute yellow/black wire as mentioned in previous posts to disable the parking brake inhibitor. I have now lost all power to the stereo. I rerouted the green wire to its original location and ungrounded the yellow/black so everything is back in it's former state. I have check the other wires...everything is connected like it was before I opened it up. All fuses work. I've tried the reset button on the front panel with the car off and with it on. Still have no power on the stereo but everything else in car works so I know it'
  3. Every time I dial a number, the Bluetooth disconnects from the car yet the call remains connected on my phone. This happens most of the time. Every once in a great while, the call will go through while the call is completed. The system receives calls okay. Sometimes, the system just disconnects for no reason even though my phone still reads it fine. Sometimes, the bluetooth locks my phone up and turns all the icons on my phone gold. Even when the call is disconnected, I have to remove the battery from my phone to release the lock. My phone is the Samsung M500. Could the problems be connec
  4. great...will do...thanks! Nope. See attached. FAT only. Yup! Format the drive using FAT
  5. Thank you very much. That solution worked. That's what I get for hooking it up in the dark with a flashlight! Now all I need to know is how to get it to read my external HD. It reads my flash drive which is formatted as FAT32. My external HD is NTSF with 2.0 speed. Will the CB-UB100 still read an NTSF drive? I have enabled sharing, but that has not helped. I have followed the instructions for the NO AUDIO message, but it has not helped. Is there anything else I can do?
  6. I recently purchased a CD-UB100 USB device for my AVIC-N4. It recognizes an attached drive, shows the files, and plays the music with the time counter. However, the music does not play over the speakers. The audio works fine on all the other devices. The CD-UB100 is daisy-chained to the XM receiver. The power supply is connected properly. I have adjusted all the sound settings with no success. Any suggestions?
  7. Is that used to wedge apart the clamp inside the harness?
  8. Do I need a special tool to remove wires from one slot and put in another or do I just pull them out? I tried pulling, but since they didn't come out easily, I didn't want to damage anything.
  9. Does anyone know how to get rid of the annoying startup screens on the N4?
