Apparently there is something flaky with these units.... you can see that by just googling the NEX series... I was researching my situation and found your post.... let me explain my situation and maybe someone can chime in... I have a 2005 F150 with a Pioneer AVH-NEX4100... I installed it myself about 2 years ago and the backup camera worked fine and has for the 2 years... I had it set to camera view = OFF, backup camera=on, BATTERY, etc... I wrote all settings down... so here it is 2 years later... I left my interior lights on over a weekend and killed my battery... it reset my HU settings...
