  1. Why would you need to when the volume button does it as well? Seems kinda redundant.

Dumb question, when on the map screen, my volume control doesn't control my zoom. It is controlling my ipod, so songs change and turning it controls my volume.

So how do you use it for zooming in?

  2. I was going to make my own POI for my city for the Red Light Cameras, but a few in the area only list their location as:

Camera, Bridgeport & San Francisco, Lakewood, WA,

But to put an address there moves the camera 1000ft north which is a different intersection. So if I had coordinates for that intersection, then it would accurate on my AVIC. Avic Feeds require Longitute and Latitude on each location.

  3. Does anyone know of a program or website that will change crossroad locations into longitude and latitude coordinates? Goggle Earth does it, but the coordinates in the crosshair are way off and the POI tells you the camera is in a different place.

I know you can cross over addresses, but most red light cameras don't have an address and if you use the closest address, it can put you off by up to a 1000 ft on the navigational map.

    Thanks.

  4. I kind of wished that did that on the F Series. I rented a Chrysler Aspen and the built in navigation would only come out the front driver side speaker, leaving the music and such normal out of the other speaks so the guidance didn't bother your passengers.

  5. Yes Bullshit. When I was playing with Navigate Feeds it did the same thing. You have to use Excel to open the CSV and then split them up. Take the first 300 and save them as file1.csv (or whatever) and then take the next 300 and save them as file2.csv, etc.

I dont think its so bad if you had information regarding the POI location in the CSV file. For instance the Speed Trap one, if they had the location in the description you could make a file for the areas around, for instance, I am in Seattle, so I would have a Seattle.csv, Tacoma.csv, Everett.csv, etc, all with just the info from those areas.

Anyone figure out a better way?

  6. Has anyone downloaded the European version and played around with it?

I did, and when I put a POI list on it and convert it, it gives me an error, but when I put it on an SD card and put it in my F900BT and seach the POI list, BOOM the list is there. So even though is not the US version, it appears to work with my unit.

Pretty cool. Now I have Red Light Camera locations on my F900BT.

  7. The RCA connectors attach to the RCA connectors on the pigtail and the USB connector connects to the USB cable, that pigtain comes out of the back of the unit.

I did not have the iPod cable when I got the unit, I just kept the RCA and the USB connectors in reach below the radio so that installation would be a breeze.

  8. Mine works... not to well, but well enough.

It has a hard time with artists like ABC, Elton John, Tom Petty and a few others. I have a catalogue of about 19000 songs, so that may be the problem. The big one is Duran Duran, she just doesn't seem to like them and when you say Play Artist Duran Duran she likes to play Expose in its place.

I have gotten creative and I am using the genre field to put in Artist and Song Title so I can say "Play Genre Elton John Yellow Brick Road" and she'll play it. I am finding you need to do some creative spelling to make it work right in cases. For instance for Duran Duran, in the genre field if you put Durran Durran Girls on Film, she'll recognize it.

Once again it could just be the size of my collection.

  9. On my D3, I had the iPod and the Changer. The changer wasn't really used unless my girlfriend or friends brought their CDs along, then I would load them up on the changer. I wish the F series did have the changer option for that reason.

  10. I like the fixes that have corrected issues on the firmware, but I have an issue that is now there that wasn't before.

If I am on my iPod screen and I want to change the artist using the voice command, 50% of the time it shuts down the iPod and mutes it. To fix it I have to reset the unit, reselect iPod on the AV1 setting and then it works.

    Anyone else have this problem?

  11. My guess is that you will have to pay for an SD or CD upgrade, just like microsoft does with its updates. As always downloading would be free, just like microsoft. Can you image the price for SD and postage? I dont' think Pioneer would just give them away.

But I could also be very wrong about them.
