I just got a refund $100 I had suscribed for the one time payment almost 3 months ago took about 10 min

first, I got the 3.0 done I went on a drive and I notice that I don't get any street names on the map while on 3D mode unless I tilt the map as if I was looking from the top,

does anybody has this issue?

on a good note, the 3D landmarks on the 2.0 looked kind of generic now they look more realistic

here is the united center,

before was just a cartoony looking building now it looks better and even has the name on the roof like the real united center. (notice that there is no names on the streets )

downtown chicago, sears tower looks better on 3.0

I got my password, but when I enter it, the DONE button does not light up. It appears my 15 digit password is 1 digit too short! I printed the screen and entered it several times. Anyone else getting this?

no, just plug it in.

on the AVIC-D3 is possible to search by Phone number sadly not supported on the f series AVIC.

the Sony wired remote somewhat works on my f90bt controls most of the basic functions.

just moved it to the center console.

i finally found my VSS wire and tapped into it and connected it to the appropriate pin now how do i access the vehicle dynamics screen? do i have to have the navigation disk in order to do so?

you don't need to have the NAV disk in just go in the map screen then press the menu button

for what I have read in this forums one of the selling points of this units is being able to hack and modify them so you and your, and I quote " a computer and car-stereo expert of 15-plus years.

should be extactic that you can booth up on test mode on this units and change everything you don't like, unlike any other in navigation unit in the market,

I love my Avic and if I had 15-plus years as a computer expert I would love them even more.

and if I was a "car stereo expert for 15-plus years" I would have installed my stereo myself, but I am not a "car stereo expert for 15-plus years" and I still installed my stereo myself.

I am coming from a D3 and I love the 90bt, Bluetooth it's much better love the 3D maps, when I go to downtown chicago the 3D buildings looks amazing, ipod conectivity much better too voice recognitiion makes it worth it..

Not to go off topic but has anyone tried the G1 with the F series? A friend of mine wants to buy my 700 and is considering the G1, it would suck if she got both and it doesn't work. Thanks in advance.

my G1 and F90bt work excellent transfers contacts, voice dialing and auto connects when you turn on BT on the phone and calls are loud and clear definetly much better that on my old D3

you coud do something like this and use the front AUX input on the D3 but it won't charge your Ipod and you won't be able to control the ipod with the D3 touch screen, I did this mostly to get video from my ipod touch to the d3

ATT = Attenuate. Does it actually mute the radio when this is up on the screen? Please report back when you get a hang of the remote and what all it controls properly

it doesn't mute sound all the way it just lowers it down,

it was late when I was done, I'll play with it tomorrow and report back

I got the mounting kit and the sony RM-X4S remote today from crutchfield so I finished the install of the f-90 bt on my Lightning here are some pics and a small vid, I still don't know what functions I can control with the remote but so far I tried is volume up/down change source AM to FM to ipod and vice versa, also press a button and a prompt comes on the stereo with the letters ATT (don't know what that is), change CD tracks or seek up and down and change tracks on the ipod.

also the hardware bypass works flawlessly, thanks AVIC411 for the help on the install.

you are right. just reposition the mute wire and change GPS antennas. I just did it.

Yes they change colors on their own based upon time of day etc... All the light switch does is change the brightness of the unit.... which you can fine tune also in the settings...

I just installed my AVIC-F90BT and after I was done I was testing it and driving around and the map was bright and clear, I just went to the garage to play with it some more and the map is a dark color like the color the D3 turns when you turn on your lights

when I was testing it my Lights weren't on and neither where on when I went back out, the map looks gourgeous either way I am just wondering if the f90 change colors after certain time of the day?
