first, I got the 3.0 done I went on a drive and I notice that I don't get any street names on the map while on 3D mode unless I tilt the map as if I was looking from the top, does anybody has this issue? on a good note, the 3D landmarks on the 2.0 looked kind of generic now they look more realistic here is the united center, before was just a cartoony looking building now it looks better and even has the name on the roof like the real united center. (notice that there is no names on the streets ) downtown chicago, sears tower looks better on 3.0 and lastly, beautifu

on the AVIC-D3 is possible to search by Phone number sadly not supported on the f series AVIC.

the Sony wired remote somewhat works on my f90bt controls most of the basic functions. just moved it to the center console.

you don't need to have the NAV disk in just go in the map screen then press the menu button

for what I have read in this forums one of the selling points of this units is being able to hack and modify them so you and your, and I quote " a computer and car-stereo expert of 15-plus years. should be extactic that you can booth up on test mode on this units and change everything you don't like, unlike any other in navigation unit in the market, I love my Avic and if I had 15-plus years as a computer expert I would love them even more. and if I was a "car stereo expert for 15-plus years" I would have installed my stereo myself, but I am not a "car stereo expert for 15-plus

I am coming from a D3 and I love the 90bt, Bluetooth it's much better love the 3D maps, when I go to downtown chicago the 3D buildings looks amazing, ipod conectivity much better too voice recognitiion makes it worth it..

my G1 and F90bt work excellent transfers contacts, voice dialing and auto connects when you turn on BT on the phone and calls are loud and clear definetly much better that on my old D3

you coud do something like this and use the front AUX input on the D3 but it won't charge your Ipod and you won't be able to control the ipod with the D3 touch screen, I did this mostly to get video from my ipod touch to the d3 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v606/ ... pod001.jpg
