I have the correct cable to connect to the ipod to the avic d3 and the music and all works fine but the video does not. when i hit video on the d3 it says to control from the ipod and wheni control from the ipod i start the video but i see no video and only hear sound. I've done some searching and people say it can be done and then people say it can't so im just curious if there is a way to make it work or not? thanks

So hooking it up like this I will b able to engage it by puttin the truck in reverse and also by goin to map amd then rear view?

I have a back up camera to install and i have a few questions. i know the back up camera needs to be grounded and also connected to the reverse light wire for power. I also know the RCA video wire needs to be plugged into the back of the D3. my question is the d3 has a wire on the harness labeled reverse correct? and i need tap this wire into the reverse light wire as well right? and does anybody know off hand where i can find a closer tap in for the d3's reverse wire to the reverse lights? or should i just run wire all the way to the back of the truck? thanx in advance

when i hit map from the a/v screen it brings up the please insert appropriate disk screen then from there it wnt let me hit map or menu it will only let me push the volume knob so maybe i do have to have it i got on the way ill have to wait and see

when i press the NAV menu since i dnt have the nav disk it says insert the appropriate disk and when i hit menu while its on that screen it doesnt do anything

after reading this thread i noticed that my time is shown as **:** also. it doesnt do anything else though the dvd works fine and the navigation screens says insert appropriate disk but only because i dont have the disk yet to put in it

i finally found my VSS wire and tapped into it and connected it to the appropriate pin now how do i access the vehicle dynamics screen? do i have to have the navigation disk in order to do so?

ok so i tried to do searches and couldnt find an exact answer so. im installing a D3 i got everything else hooked up except for whats mentioned above. I understand the bypass as far as removing the MUTE wire from the pin and moving it up BUT do i then just ground the other end of the MUTE wire ? and do i also ground the parking brake wire from the radio? and i know the VSS has to do with the dynamics BUT what do i hook the VSS wire coming from the D3 to? i have a 04 silverado not sure if that matters
