  1. Hey All - So I installed D3 in 2007 F-250. I used the metal mounting brackets off the side of the factory unit. BUT my D3 is a good 1/4 - 1/2 inch outside of dash. I want it to be flush with dash.

is there a cage or installation kit that will set the unit back for me, so it's flush.

Could not have installed AVIC without "AVIC411.com" Thanks

The dash kit should have come with 4 1/4" spacers on a plstice tree. If not, pm me I think I have some left over at work.

  2. Test it before you put the car together. Sometimes the orange/white wire will not work on the avic depending on the level your dimmer is at. If it doesn't then there's a green/white wire in the harness that runs to the rear of the car on the driver's side. That's the +parking light wire. That'll work for an illumination tap.

  3. You're better off just wiring the camera to ignition power. If you're intent on wiring a relay off your reverse lights, then here's the RIGHT way to do it in an altima.

30 - to + wire of backup camera

87 - to + 12volts ignition or constant don't matter just has to be capable of supplying enough current to power the camera.

    85 - to ground

86 - to reverse wire in car.

  4. In some vehicles, there is no VSS wire that the D3 can read, because it is digital.

Pretty sad information you're feeding these people. All vehicles have a VSS wire that transmits a Digital DC signal...

Whether it be a wheel speed sensor, cam/crank sensor, VSS on the trans it consists of:

    A reluctor (toothed wheel)

    Magnetic Pickup

    Coil of wire

    They're all digital...

As for ANALOG signals (TPS, MAP, MAF) most of them need to be converted to Digital DC so the PCM can understand the signal.

When he says "digital" he means they're DATA signals or the vss signal itself is pulsed outside the range the avic can handle (most newer chryslers).

  5. I have a question for the pros.... I have an 03 H2, installed the D3, had to use that harness so the chimes/onstar and all that will still work.... part of that harness uses 4 rca plugs, left/right, front/rear.... Anyways, a few things... the volume, even at 40 isnt as loud as it used to be.... Also, certain speakers will come on and off at random times.... It has the bose system, planning on swapping out the bose for new amp/speakers... but i dont know when yet... Any suggestions on why the speakers are coming and going and also about the volume thing? Anyone had experience with the H2's with Bose/Onstar harness and all that...?

Since there's at least 4 different interfaces I know of for that vehicle, what's the model number of the one you used?
