Succeeded in updating to 4.0. Removed the unit completely and reinstalled it. USB still not working, perhaps a broken usb cable.

I do not use the car often so i didn't bother me that i had map 1.0008 and firmware 2.009 I wanted to use my usb stick and sd card and noticed that they were not working anymore. i put a usb stick and sd card but the menu shows them grey. Thought i'd just reset it, no luck. Thought i'd update it, no luck. What can i do to resolve my issue
