  1. Not washed out but glare can be a killer. I can't seem to find this avicsync app I tried using my iphone as wifi hotspot and the unit won't find it, or the wifi from my house for the connected services. I'm a little baffled, I have downloaded avic feeds, and app radio, I'm wondering if I need the cable but the radio says that connected services uses wifi.
  2. Ok so your able to change the color of the map itself to help see the streets better, I did that but I can't find where to set and keep the map zoomed to where I like it. It does the smart zoom no matter what I try. The only setting I see is viewpoint setting, I'll continue to play with it. It's a huge improvement over my old pioneer, running through menus are fast, response of what I select is fast and smooth. Very happy so far.
  3. Mine also returns to the driving screen, I need to do a little more reading to see if it can be set. So far I haven't read about that yet. Sitting in my truck going through the manual on my ipad as I screw with it. The z2 I just replaced with this was able to set the zoom in/ out as much as I wanted. If I figure out how to do it I'll report back
  4. I got my 8000 installed today, he didn't have the ip5 cable but everything seems to be great so far, sounds great, looks great, pandora and aha work flawless through BT. I MUST say that just like someone else posted white roads on a sorta tan map background is retarded, street names written across the streets instead of in the streets is also pretty poor.
  5. I get my 8000 installed tomorrow, I think that feature would be cool, but it's not a deal breaker for me if it doesn't work. I just hope the rest works as advertised, or some quick fixes in the near future.

    AVIC-8000NEX

I have a z2 that's finally crapping out on me, and was going to get a app 3, but it doesn't have dual zone, so I'm looking at an 8000 for the dual zone support. What kept me away from app radios in the past has been the sluggish response. I love pioneer just didn't want to drop 1400.00 on a head unit. Was even thinking of ipad mini in dash too. But still would have to do something. For my back seat tv's.
  10. I also remember reading the apps were laugh and slow, is it true or have they fixed those issues?
  11. So I have a z1 now with rear seat tv's installed In my headrest, I love being able to either use my nav or listen to music while the kids watch a movie in the back with thier headphones. My unit is old and it's been acting up lately so it's time to get a new head unit. I have been reading up on the new in dash units but learned here the nav software sucks so I was thinking of app radio2 but it doesn't have DVD capabilities so that's probably out. I been reading the new nav software on z150 isn't great so don't know if I'll be happy. My set up iPhone 4 , iPod, ipad, 2nd zone for rear se
  12. I have a z2 and find its not doing enough anymore and decided the iPad route like you. I love it. I have the wifi new iPad so it doesn't have gps chip built in.i had to jailbreak to use an external Bluetooth tomtom gps and it works great. I bought navigon and it works well too. But imam trying to figure out voice control. I installed from cydia iPad voice-enable but can't seem to get it to offer me voice control. I enabled voice control under the winterboard settings. You wouldn't have any idea how in can get the voice control it to work. Pressing home button doesn't offer voice control fo
