louiea, I used the same discs that you are trying to use. The first one burned perfectly using Imageburn, I gave my friend a copy and when I went to burn one for me it would fail at about 50%. I don't know if it has to do with the Memorex discs but it could be, I would suggest trying another type, maybe DVD-R DL.

I reset the unit and uploaded the new disc again, everything works perfectly. If anyone has updated successfully but is having a few glitches in the software, I would recommend reseting the unit and then uploading the disc again. Once again, thank you for doing what Pioneer should have done, I will think twice about purchasing from them again because of this.

Thank you so much for the upgrade. The only problem I am having is when I have an mp3 disk in I can't bring up the list of songs, it only shows the detail screen, you know the one that shows the background and has the song and artist at the bottom. I upgraded my friends D3 as well and he has the exact same problem. I am going to try and reset the D3 and see what that does. Anyone else have this problem? Also, after extracting the file I see some jpegs that I want to try and change, like the gauges and boot screen, I am sure as long as I keep it the same size it will work no problem, I
