  1. Some people are never satisfied!!! But since we are making wish lists, why not dispense a naked woman out the DVD slot holding a strip of bacon?
  2. The inability to quickly scroll through songs, artist, etc........
  3. I couldn't agree with you more! This is an awesome site and why I still hang around here even though I am no longer a D3 owner is beyond me.
  4. You do know that you can scroll "up" with the D3, going from A back to Z with one button push? Well that was a bad example so a better example would be searching for an artist with the first letter of "M". Up or down you still have to search through thousands and thousands of artist.
  5. Axxman, So far I have owned the Alpine W205 for about a week and can say without a doubt that I made the right choice by ditching the Pioneer AVIC D3. Despite the buzzing and humming from the speakers at low volume (this is an ongoing issue with the installers) I have enjoyed the unit. What I did not like about the Pioneer AVIC D3. 1. I lost majority of the FM stations I once received using my factory system. 2. Although the navigation had some cool features, it completely sucked in the “routing†and operation department. 3. To fully utilize the Navigation, I had to leave
  6. lightsout, That seems to be the pattern with folks on this board and others. If someone has never had Navi capabilities, the D3 is a godsend. However, most folks who are familiar with Navi's (ie. accuracy, avoidance, shortest vs fastest, rerouting, speed of calculation, etc) knows the Pioneer D3 falls way short of the competition. I said it many times before and will say it once again, the D3 is an awesome unit if Navi is not a priority.
  7. GT17V, I feel your frustration and recently said the hell with the D3 in favor of the Alpine W205. The D3 is an awesome unit EXCEPT for Navigation and IPod useability. I started a new thread a few days ago called Getting rid of D3 for Alpine W205. Also, if you do a search on this board for routing, you will find a many people who are less than impressed with Pioneers attempt to provide a navigation that actually NAVIGATES!
  8. Over the weekend I think I found the thread you are referring to and from what I read, he compared the D3 with the Alpine W200. I am having the W205 installed.
  9. Ursus, We are definitely not the only two who thinks the D3 navigation is seriously flawed. Check out the other posts. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... light=duck http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... light=duck http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... ht=routing
  10. lightsout, I like everything about the navigation (ie. controls, maps, user friendliness) except the process it uses to determine routes. There were many times when the navigation took me on a wild goose chase just to find a destination that was only a few miles up the road. There were also times when the unit would direct me off the road I was currently on only to place me back on the same road in the exact same spot which is absolutely dumb! People have suggested to play around with the route settings which I have done but still received the same results. The unit also lacks the abil
  11. After owning my D3 for less than three weeks, I have finally decided to dump it in favor of the Alpine W205 with blackbird Nav. The D3 is a decent unit in many areas but the area I needed it to be great in which is Navigation, it failed miserably. I will never bash the unit solely because of the navigation feature because there are many people on these threads who have no use for navigation and to those people I say you have a great unit. To the rest of us who rely heavily on navigation, you know the D3 is not to be trusted to route out of the driveway. If anyone is interested, i will do a
  12. Aurena, Before buying the AVIC D3 I hungout on this message board and many others to get a sense of how satisfied people were with their D3 purchase. Mostly everyone seemed to be satisfied so several weeks ago I pulled the trigger and bough the D3 with ipod and blue tooth. After having the unit for almost 3 weeks I am wondering how many people on these boards would fail a drug test because they have been writing while impaired. The D3 fails way short of my expectations and even failed on a few expectations I did know I had. For instance, after having the unit installed, I lost 95% of
  13. I purchased my ML without the NAV because at the time I thought I would save a few dollars and buy a portable NAV instead of upgrading to package #2 which was several thousand dollars more. Well i was content for about a year but I really started to miss the NAV and camera I had on the Acura MDX I traded for the ML. Besides, I grew tired of having to remove the portable NAV at night and the smudge circles it left on my windshield.
  14. I have been hanging around this message board and a few others to read what people have to say about the Pioneer AVIC D3 and specifically whether this unit could be installed in a 2007 Mercedes ML350. All the reviews on the unit were favorable but there were reported problems when attempting to install in newer Mercedes vehicles. For starters, the newer vehicles use fiber optic instead of wires to transmit signals between stereo components so adding an aftermarket device would eliminate the steering wheel control, factory blue tooth, and amp functionality. Armed with what I had read, I decided
