  1. I have had my BB Tour since Jan and for the most part it worked well w/ the D3. Recently (past couple of months) it would connect but there would be no sound. I would have to activate the speakerphone to use the phone. Now I am having more issues. About every 3 days, when I go to place a call, the call screen comes up but says "call waiting". After I am done, the screen is stuck and will not go back to the radio. This happened when I 1st got the Tour, but replaced the phone and the issue was resolved. Thoughts? Anything I can download to fix this problem? thanks J
  2. I've had my D3 since it came out. Always was working great. A few days ago I realized that the phone feature stopped working properly. More specifically, after I turn my car on or after a phone call, the timer on the phone will not shut off, even though my actual phone is off. It's as if I was still talking on the phone. In addition, the volume button that is used to switch modes will not work. Finally, in the past if I was listening to my radio and the phone rang, the screen would switch to phone and when I hung out it would switch back to the radio - this does not work either. I have
  3. When you recieve a pone call should the name show or just the #? thanks J
  4. I returned the Pearl and just got hte Q-9m. Works great, but you have to do the contacts one at a time.
  5. The problem with Verizon is that they change the profiles on the same phones. Someone suggested the Samsung u740 and said it worked great for them. I tried it and couldn't auto connect. when I called Verizon and spoke to a level 3 tech support manager (not that he knew much) he said that they changed the features and that phone no longer auto connects. I am ready to buy any phone. worst case I'll jump ship to ATT.
  6. I purchased the Pearl (through Verizon) and thought it was the answer (see earlier posts as I have tried many phones). While the Pearl Auto connects, I can't transfer the phone book (which if I have to I can live with) but I have a call waiting problem. The call waiting keeps ringing and ringing through the car speakers, even if I answer the call or ignore it. I have to end all calls and then call someone back. This I can't live with. Bottom line, all Verizon phones suck. I think I am goin to cancel and go w/ ATT. They can't be worse. J
  7. this sucks. I just tried a ton of phones and non seems to work. When somone reccomends a phone I try it only to find out that the featuers or options have since changed.
  8. Verizon blows. I had the BB 8703e but when I recieved call waiting the phone would keep ringing through the car speakers. I dumped that phone and tried a few others (Razr, Samsung u740, LGVX700) and the Pearl. I have the Pearl and while this one auto connectes I now have the same call waiting problem. I may just cut my losses and go back to ATT (which I hate). I need a fully functioning Blue Tooth and I am not getting that right now.
  9. I have a problem w/ call waiting. When call waiting rings I can't shut off the ringer. If I answer the call waiting, the phone keeps ringing. If I ignore the call waiting, the phone keeps ringing. This only happens when connected to my D3. suggestions? thanks J
  10. Yes. I was told that they changed the firmware in the Samsung and it wouldnt work w/ any blue tooth. I didn't want another blackberry but I got the pearl. works like a charm. thanks for all the help.
  11. just tried this and no luck. I must be doing something wrong. I turned off all the features that are displayed on the bottom (auto answer, connect, echo ....) then I cleared all the phones and shut off my car. I then paired my phone w/ the D3 and then turned on the options including auto connect. I turned off my car again waited for the phone to disconnect and turned the car back on and NOTHING this is beyond frustrating. any other suggestions? I think I've tried everything. Parking brake on, off, half way - everything. I can pair the phone just can't auto connect (which is
  12. I just spent 2 more hrs in my car and no luck. My BB 8703e always connected. what am I doing wrong? everyone else said that the Samsung would connect auto thanks J
  13. I just returned this phone. It had other limitations which I didn't like. I bought the Samsung U 740. I was able to tranfer the phone book but I can't auto connect. Any advise on how to auto connect? thanks J
  14. I just got the LG VX 8700 - and I can connect but once I shut off the D3 or my phone I can no longer auto connect. Auto Connect is selected on the D3 Incoming security on the LG is set on always connect I've tried all steps suggested and this one http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11873 to a T. Still is doesnt seem to work. could the blue tooth be shutting off when I close my phone? only thing I can think of. HELP as I can't return this phone and it was not cheap. thanks J
