  1. I came across this today and it got me wondering. http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/31/man- ... stall-gon/ I installed my own unit but after reading this, I'm wondering "what constitutes a fire hazard? I used a aftermarket wiring harness and used butt connectors to connect the D3's harness to them. I also had wrapped the connections with electrical tape as well. There really wasn't any splicing other than the VSS speed wire, and I did CUT and reconnected a ground and line for the SWI-PS adapter (again using butt connectors and a little bit of soldering for the resistor (And again wra
  2. A few days ago. Did you pay $589 for it? I bought mine a couple weeks ago and got it for $535 from them, that's why they wouldn't throw in ANYTHING for free. AND they tried to jack me for the install.

I bought both fro

  5. That was it, Thanks!!! So strange how I listen to AM more than FM
  6. Hi everybody, first post here. I first want to thank everybody for all the great information. I installed my D3 using information from this site and did it in about an hour. (I've installed car stereo's before) but I didn't realize this unit was more like a regular head unit than a complex maze of wires. Anyways, unit works great, bypass works and everything, but for some reason, AM stations are not very audible, LOTS of static, and I have to crank up the volume way high only to vaguely here what's going on. I drive a scion 08 xb and my stock unit received AM stations very clearly,
