  1. I think I figured it out. The diagram shows the 22 pin connector that used to connect to the radio and now connects to the Metra unit. Looking into the unit, pins 5 and 6 on the connector are marked on the diagram. If I figured this out correctly, I would tap into the wires equivalent to these pins. Can + goes to pin 5 and Can - goes to pin 6.
  2. I've installed the AVIC D3 using the METRA CHT01 unit and am getting ready to install the PAC steering wheel controls SWI-CAN and SWI-PS. I need to hook the SWI can unit to the car. There are five wires on the SWI-CAN unit that need to be connected. Three make sense to me. Black - Ground Red - Accessory 12v Output Yellow - Battery 12v They will hook into the same color wires on the harness. The confusion comes with the White/Red - CAN (+) White/Black - CAN (-) I'm supposed to hook it to the vehicles interior CAN +/- wires and am referred to PAC's vehicle applicat
  3. Any chance the bypass could contribute to this. 1. Remove the yellow and black mute wire. 2. Place the Mute wire in the slot directly above where you removed it from. 3. Using a wire tap (radio shack 10 for $5) connect the mute wire to the ground. 4. Using the wire tap (that is already attached to the parking break wire/green wire) attach it to the ground wire as well. 5. GROUND the BLACK WIRE....AKA GROUND DUH! ENJOY!
  4. How would you by-bass it without purchasing another harness to get the hookups to the power, etc. I did try it with a Metra unit and had the exact same problem.
  5. I have been having a heck of a time getting this unit to work. I had problems early on with the Metra adapter but eventually got the stereo to work for about a week. The unit is currently sitting on the seat with the wires hooked to it. When I power up the unit I get the fan to power up, the button lights to come on, the powering up message comes on the screen and the button lights change colors two or three times. If the unit is in the radio mode the radio will come on during this time frame but the radio screen never shows. After about 10 seconds, nothing. The button lights g
  6. I'm getting ready to install a BOYO backup camera and have some questions about the wiring. The instructions in the Metra manual say to hook the HU backup wire to the Green/Purple wire on the Metra harness. The AVIC instructions say to hook their backup wire to the camera. The camera has a red wire marked VCC+ and a black wire marked GND-. How do you hook this up? Thanks. Bob
