GM changed their stereo opening in 03 from 1.5 din to double din. It put mine in a 01 Silverado so it can be done, but you must have a lot of time and patience to do it. I have not posted anyt

I re-paired my phone following Ducatiboy's instructions doing a level 3 reset. It totally eliminated any echo (razor V3, Cingular), but the microphone level is still too low. Did I miss something somewhere? Is there a mic gain that I can set somewhere? It seems like there should be one on the volume screen with the telephone, guidance, and other settings. If someone knows how to increase the gain on the microphone, please let me know. Thanks!

Does anyone know if there is a way to determine if you already have the firmware update? Can you tell by looking at the hardware version? I have a newer unit (August 06 I think) that is bypassed. I have the original microphone (which I'm considering replacing). I have not done the level 3 reset and re-pair the phone with the volume turned down, but I'm going to try this next. My wife reports that "it sounds like I'm a long way away" when she talks to me on bluetooth. When I turn up the volume to where I want it, she says that it echos. I think I already found the answer to this question in http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1255. It looks like it will be "updating" until I get a NavTraffic subscription.

I just got my Z-1 installed and changed my XM subscription over to my new tuner. The XM radio works fine, but right under the "BT" (blue tooth) symbol on the map screen, it shows "updating". Does anyone know why this is there and won't go away. Is it because I don't have a subscription to NavTraffic maybe? Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

You will not be able to use the camera driving down the road if you so desire. If don't ever want to look behind you with it going forward, then it's a decent alternative.
