  1. Just completed the bypass and cleaned up behind the dash. Everything seems to be hunkyfory now. Great instruction. Thanks to all who contributed.
  2. Thanks CatchMeIfYouCan631. I bought the truck used with the unit in. With out tearing the dash apart and the unit, there is no telling what has been done to it. So we'll need to take a looksee. Take care
  3. >>try reading ANY of the bypass threads. that's called "motion lockouts". Yes I have and I understand the concept. But I do not understand why I can STILL watch DVDs blazing down the road at 75MPH.
  4. So I decided I would begin the journy of bypassing my unit. The first and only task I have done was the e-brake thingy while I tried to find more time. Earlier today I popped in a DVD and to my suprize, I am now able to watch DVDs on my unit while rolling. How could this be? I mean, with out all the other stuff to bypass. It does seem that after 10MPH though, some features do get disable such as my phone options and address stuff, but not the playing DVD. Why is this? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  5. Hello, Great site with lots of info. I've been looking here while I was picking up my new truck that luckely had the AVIC-Z2 already installed. So today I was just messing around and was trying to play a DVD for the kiddos while driving. Now I know my brother had a toggle switch in his vehical for some other brand player, so while at a stop I put the ebrake on at 1 click. Viola, the DVD was showing video now, I drove about 1/4 mile like this at 25-30 mph and then disengaged the ebrake because of the ding-ding racket it was making. To my question, I though that exceeding the 10mpg speed
