Yes you can play a dvd and still use navigation but it's the memory nav of course. The only thing that sucks is you can't listen to sirius up front and have a movie playing in the back like I could with the N1.

I did one in an 06 or 07 and it was behind the glove box.

I know the N3 has it to where you can do the tri-mode or whatever you call it. You could essentially watch a DVD on a rear monitor, listen to the radio up front and navigate on the N3's display all at the same time. The D3's video output is tied into what's on the front screen. That's the only major difference besides the built in ipod adapter and various things that come with the D3.

The cd-vc1 has a microphone and a remote with it. You mount the mic somewhere with the clip they supply you and run the wire behind the deck. It plugs into the harness with the rca's and stuff and should be labeled "Voice recognition mic" or something like that. You put the remote on the steering wheel so you can push the voice button and then speak your command.
