  1. All you have to do is have a folder called PICTURES

you then put up to 20 pictures in the folder making sure they don't have spaces or weird characters in the name...   I just did this yesterday on my Avic d3 that I just installed in my truck after it's been sitting in my basement for over 4 years...

I've never had a problem putting images on the cd.  Makes sure you don't mark the cd as a usb drive when burning the data... it should be a closed disc.

  2. Thinking about installing my Spare Avic d3 in my truck.  I already have the Ipod specific cable for my little nano which is perfect,  I saw that they make this cable.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pioneer-Avic-D1-Avic-D2-Avic-D3-Aux-3-5-mm-iP-Bus-iPod-MP3-Satellite-Sirius-XM-/380617301021

What input would that use for the 3.5mm?

I would guess that the existing Ipod cable/adapter uses the IPOD icon on the menu, but what does the IP-Bus aux cable, would that be Video 1?

I know the front of the stereo has an aux input but I don't want wires hanging from the front of the headunit.

    Thanks,

    -Nigel

  3. I just updated my 70mt maps to the 90mt maps like yesterday... and just found this and burning now..lol

My writer doesn't burn at 2.4x it's minumim is 4x so that's what it's burning at... the 90mt updated the avic d3 no issues so I'm hoping the 110mt is good.

Are there any difference between the two other than updated poi and roads..etc.  No other features right?

From what someone else said the 90mt was much quicker than the 70mt... any speed issues or anything going on with the 110mt maps?

    Thanks,

    -Nigel

  4. I just downloaded this.  Will it work for the Avic D3?

I just updated my old maps from 70MT to the cndv-90mt yesterday and it worked fine.  Just wanted to make sure this would work before I put it in the D3 and possibly screwed something up.

Does this only update the maps, and is there an different between this and the 90mt besides being updated?

    Thanks,

    -Nigel

  5. I decided I wanted to plug my phone into the avic when I want to stream stern on the radio... Well I get behind the avic and see the input where it says INPUT and it has the right and left audio... I plug in a mini to rca plug back there and when I go to the menu I don't see the option to listen to an external source...

What does that input do if it's left and right? How would I go about playing my music from my phone? I like to keep all wires no visible so I didn't use the front mini port for that reason..

    Thanks,

    -Nigel

  6. Did you install the 2009 or the 2010 maps? My AVIC still has the original maps, from 2006 I believe. Would love to update the GPS, but don't want to lose use of the bypass. Thanks much!

    +2 here.

    Exact same boat.

What does one get with the update other than newer streets and updated locations..?

    -Nigel

  7. I am zoomed in at .5 miles... I can see the main road i am on but the other street names are not displaying.

Is there an option for map detail.. Navigating through the menus I did not see this feature..

I will go out to my car and see..

    -Nigel

  8. When I do not program a route via the D3 and I am just driving with the map on even zoomed in only the main road street names are displayed... is there a way to get teh side streets and what not displayed?

I am just used to this feature from my garmin..

So far I like the GPS on the d3... only gripe I had was when I was going to the airport last night to pick up my sister it was telling me to make a left when there was no way I could make a left because there was no street...lol

But after I made the RIGHT I was back on track...

    Thanks,

    -Nigel

  9. Can you plug in headphones into the D3?

IE: I am driving but my sister in the passenger seat wants to watch a movie but I do not want to hear the movie while driving... is there a way we can plug in headphones so that instead of the audio/music coming out of all the car speakers only comes out of the headphones?

Didn't really see anything like this in the manual so I figured I would ask.

  10. Welp, thanks for the replies.

I'm not switching phones..lol I love Palm. I guess I will just sell the bluetooth box on ebay. Hell selling I will recoop half the cost of the Avic!..lol

I lived this long without having bluetooth in my car so I guess I will just use my headset like I always have................ oh wells... it's definitely a nice feature I just with there was some type of standard where everything would just work...arg.!

    Thanks yall,

    -Nigel

  11. I have this one that you made..lol

    I really like it..

It's a nice conversation started especially when people are in the car and tI say "ah shit, blue screen of death...great....."

    lol

  12. Also using security torx screws helps.

That is how I mounted my crimestopper bar camera and currently using a torx screw that has a round nub in the center so you have to have a torx bit with the hole drilled in it.. as a normal pliers, bits woni't take it off..etc.

Plus I like the crim stopper camera because you can't relaly even see the camera is there,

I will have to take a picture.

  13. The d3 is my first replacment car stereo that I have ever owned.. (i installed everything myself and now everything works! w00t w00t!)

I am still amazed at all the things this does... I am used to just a normal 6 disc in dash player and thought that was awesome!

Welp on my ipod I have probably 500 artists, then of course under the artist there are their albums..

When I push the "Artist" catorgory on the avic it goes to all the different artist in alphabetical order... that's fine if I am on A-D... once I chose an artist say that has the letter Y in their name in the beginning and chose to play their music if I want to go back when I click on Artist it goes back to the Letter A... is there any way that there is an easier way to navigate with out me having to scroll all the way back down to the Y's or below?

May seem a little trivial but when you have lots of artists it's just one of those little things I guess...

I know when you click the allbum if you don't like it you can click back and it takes you back to the artist that you chose and all their albums for you to chose another one and I kinda like that feature but hoped it would be the same if you wanted to change the artist...etc.

    Thanks,

    -Nigel

  14. Installed my camera and will be taking a photo of it shortly!!

Got two questions.. what is a good angle.. Should the back up camera point more down to the ground so I can see the parking lines/curb or is it ok to have it so it can see the side lines of the parking spot and see the lower/middle part of the bumper of the car behind me..

My crime stopper came with a little adaptor but I am not sure which angle I like better... more pointing to the ground but only seeing a little bit of the lower bumper of the car or having it without the adaptor so that it shows a little bit higer of the car bhind me but then I loose the "curb" sticking out once I get past it by the camera's view?

    Thanks,

    -Nigel

  15. I will have to double check I guess. The antenna did click into the avic.

I have the wire going from the back of my sti down the door and into the carpet so no kinks or anything like that.

    hmmmm.....

This would blow if I have to rip everything up again....

Next would be the vehicle dynamic gauges? Once connected to the VSS wire does it take the avic to learn and then display those gauges or should it be instant?

    Thanks,

    -Nigel
