Well it looks like at this point I have no idea! lol I will have to get the specs from the store where I purchased the Z2. All I know is that it has an "updated system and maps." Well, guess I'm blonde again... It is installed and so far working ok. I have had an error screen pop up stating that the sensor notices that the parking brake wire isn't connected properly, but the system works fine once I press the "OK" button.

What do you mean "HD updated?" The Z2 I have was Manufactured in May 07 and has all updates for 2008 from Pioneer (system and maps). What update do I need? What do I need to make the bypass work? THANK YOU!

Ok. Then do I have to unlock to get the bypass to work?

I have a Z2 (Manufactured May 2007) with 2008 updated system and maps being installed Thursday. Do I need to unlock the Z2 before I can do the 2 wire bypass?

No, I haven't even installed the Z2 yet. The company told me that I could order the Z2 or the Z2 with the 2008 updated maps and system which costs a little more.

Do I still need to burn the image to the disc and install it to get the bypass to function properly? That is where I got confused...

HAHA! I told you I confused myself! That's pretty bad! My question was regarding doing the 2 wire bypass and having the system work, however, IF you take the time to read the Sticky, it clearly reads :: FOR ALL UNITS MADE SINCE 2006 OR ANY UNIT UPDATED WITH THE BLUETOOTH UPDATE CD" Somehow, I believe myZ2 would fall into that catagory... so all I have to do is the 2 wire bypass, then CHECK and RECHECK wires to be sure they are in the harness CORRECTLY, TIGHTLY, and GROUNDED. Is this correct oh Master of the Z2? (You know you ROCK)

Just got in Z2 and am ready for install! I've been reading through the posts and I would like everyones opinion on what I should get and why you recommend it. I just received the Z2 with the 2008 update, Bluetooth and IPod adaptors, but should I send it back and get the Z3 or wait for the new F series? I only have a few days left to return it... I just found your site (and must say that I LOVE all the info! Thanks!) Tammy
