You should be just fine with the ground from your factory wiring harness. If your running amp to your speakers, it might be the amp's ground that is putting out that whining sound or your speaker wires are to close to power wires running in your car. If your not running a speaker amp, then just get a factory harness adapter and use the ground from there.
