this has never worked for me and my iphone 3GS or blackberry 8310. I work for att and I could try phones all day but I know it's just that Pioneer eats bags of d1ck.

If anyone has a fix let me know

Running updated software on a iphone 3G S and I get the same problem. I have to dial from the unit to get the caller ID to show. If I get an incoming call and they are listed in my phone and the unit I get the "unknown" error. I basically have to use my phone either way.

I'll be lurking if anyone has any ideas.

hopefully we can keep taking clones of the X - Series software when updates come out.

Is there a cable that works best so that I don't have to unplug and reconnect the cable every day?

I haven't been able to get any sound from it either. I am not sure if it has to be turned on or not?

So my roommates accepted the package while I was at work. Ug, I know all I have to do is call UPS and tell them I don't want the package... sigh! haha.

Has anyone seen any benefit from keeping this update? I downloaded the one floating around here earlier and I'm good with it so far. The only down side is that the ipod cable doesn't read my ipod

Just got an email the other day my update shipped...

Pioneer has become very annoying to me. I canceled that order weeks ago! I specifically asked the girl if I need a confirmation number for the cancelation because I did NOT want to be charged for it... FUCK! I will never recommend Pioneer to anyone.

A: their customer service is crap

B: their units are over priced and don't work properly

C: they charge their customer for updates on map system when they should be focusing on making the unit work

I'm happy I didn't pay the full retail because if I did I'd be even more upset. Hey pioneer if you are reading this thank you for taking my $70 and holding onto it for two weeks for me... but I already have a fucking bank!

Sorry, guys I'm just a little pissed that they are this lame. End rant.

Just curious. My ipod classic (120GB I think) will lose connection at random. Sometimes it will work all day but other days it needs to be disconnected and reconnect every time I turn the car on.

Will the apple cable solve this issue?

Finally did this right! I was making the mistake of leaving my hard wire bypass set on and it is what caused the navi and system settings to stay grey. I also had a folder that said "data" on it and I wasn't sure what that was all about so I deleted it off the SD card and made it look like the images above.

This is really noob friendly. If you just follow the directions it works great.

For the people that are having a hard time hitting edit, I used a mechanical pencil and it worked easy for me. Why try to fit your finger that close to the frame.

My system loads, every function seems to work but I don't have an active "navi settings" and "system settings".

I've downloaded the 3.0 fresh off the torrent three times, I've used more than 1 SD card, I've followed the steps in multiple forums... what am I missing?

Ok so I took someone advice and checked out the by pass for DVD and that was the problem. When the switch is selected it won't give me access to those settings. When I flip it they high light and are functional. This is awesome. I had a working copy of 3.0 for a while now... -1 for my fail!

+1 for this thread. I'm sorry I wasn't doing it right. It was easy to follow but I didn't have the confidence to trouble shoot it. I had it done right a while ago. Fellow noobs follow the directions and you should be fine.

My hand brake isn't wired. I am downloading a different 3.0 file. I'm using the turboss one this time around. I'll see what happens tomorrow morning.

By pass was done to a switch in the glove box. It is a hard wire by pass but not to the hand brake.

Those who have paid for the update don't have the update yet. Many of us have successfully flashed the 3.0 firmware onto our AVIC's with no problems. I'm not sure what's going on with those who are having the black screen issues, other than to state the obvious that the file copy failed somewhere. If all the files are copied onto the unit into the correct location successfully, you have the exact same firmware as is being released on the new X series units. You can then use the 3.01 update on the Pioneer website to get those updates as well.

 

To put it bluntly, if it's not fixed in the 3.0 install we're performing now with the X series copy, it won't be fixed on the version being ordered either. Same software.

Anyway you can take a screen image of the folders that you had on your SD cards? I have to be missing something simple. I remember having 3.5 folder from the torrent, I had the test mode folder, the unzipped data folder, and the winCE files.

I have looked in just about every thread I can find here for something that I thought would be very simple to find: does the 3.0 update that is outlined here have ANY differences than the one that costs us loyal users our $$? Are they identical?

From what I understand. the 3.0 that is bouncing around is the same one that you get for your $70 bucks from pioneer. The difference is that the $70 that pioneer is charging is suppouse to have fixed the issues that the units have. Yet they didn't! So unless you want to pay $70 for a under done map update I'd recommend trying the 3.0

Tried this... it has my system rebooting itself every 5 minutes now. I think there was something wrong with my 3.0 though because I was missing the navi settings and system settings.

No I didnt back it up..didnt know how to. now how do i use it...do I put all the rar files un-zip on the flask disk?? or are they loaded up individual??...I appreicate you guys trying to help me out on this..Im a noob when it comes to the stuff.. I thought by following the instruction it would be that easy but I guess either Im not doing something right or my system simply doesnt like the update. I also see that you have the 3.0.1 on there...can I just use that one???

Don't worry we all get problems. I have tried the load 3 times. The 3rd time I got it working but had no navi setting or system setting. I tried to update to 3.01 to see if it would work and now my unit is resetting itself every few minutes... back to the drawing board.

Can someone PM me some advice. I have done the 3.0 update and my system seems to have responded to the update, I have faster button response, I have the new "always face up" on the gps, my ipod is playing it's music. Here is the kicker! No Navi Setting and no System Settings!

What did I do wrong? Would updating to 3.01 from the x910 help this?

Umm.. there is no way this is going to work. The X-Series 3.0101 update is an update on top of 3.0. Even if you somehow got the files from this update onto your F-series, it still would be missing the map and license files, the new system sounds, etc. You have to put a full 3.0 install on the unit in order to run this update.

I ran into a problem with my 3.0 update. My system rebots itself.

Are we sure this works to 3.01? I rather just try the 3.01 now since I have to redo the 3.0 any how.

I'm using a F90BT in California.

You only need one 2GB card total. There is no need for more than one card to do this mod. Copy all the files to the card from the beginning.

It's true you can load all the files onto one 2GB card at once.

So I've read over 13 pages on this update and I've got the whole process down EXCEPT that my unit keeps resetting itself. The first time I did it I didn't copy correctly but I redid it and it not only went faster but it went to the main menu.

I got the process down but what am I missing to cause the system to rebot.

Just making sure it unzipped correctly. I have a file called IDT_v3.5

That sound right for the torrented file after unzip? This "whole" folder goes on as the new software correct?

Vuze is just the current version of Azureus. Use the 'download as' option to save it locally. Open Azureus and choose to open a torrent file, then point to where you saved the file.

Haha, I just noticed that when I saw the little frog. Trying download as right away. thank you for the tip. I apologize if I sound retarded.

Wow! Like I said a simple concept I didn't think of. I was starting it wrong. Instead of going to Vuze and telling it to open a file I was going to the file and trying to get it to open with a program... fail!

Is this within the browser or if you save it locally then use Windows Explorer (or whatever is appropriate on your system) to navigate to it and select a program to open it with?

You can also save it locally, launch Vuze and then go to File/Open/Torrent File.

I honestly think I'm just missing a simple concept. I feel retarded. If I go to page one and go to the link that is posted, I can't do anything but open in new tab/window, download/download as. If I click the link it down loads a file with a bunch of characters in it. I then try to open with azureus and it won't let me. I am using a mac but I don't see how that would matter.

I am going to look up this Vuze program and see if there is one for mac.

What problem are you having? For some reason it wouldn't launch my torrent client, but I got past that by right clicking the link, saving it, then browsing to it in my file manager and forcing it to launch with the torrent software.
