this has never worked for me and my iphone 3GS or blackberry 8310. I work for att and I could try phones all day but I know it's just that Pioneer eats bags of d1ck. If anyone has a fix let me know

Running updated software on a iphone 3G S and I get the same problem. I have to dial from the unit to get the caller ID to show. If I get an incoming call and they are listed in my phone and the unit I get the "unknown" error. I basically have to use my phone either way. I'll be lurking if anyone has any ideas.

hopefully we can keep taking clones of the X - Series software when updates come out.

Is there a cable that works best so that I don't have to unplug and reconnect the cable every day?

I haven't been able to get any sound from it either. I am not sure if it has to be turned on or not? If you get any answers let me know via PM.

So my roommates accepted the package while I was at work. Ug, I know all I have to do is call UPS and tell them I don't want the package... sigh! haha. Has anyone seen any benefit from keeping this update? I downloaded the one floating around here earlier and I'm good with it so far. The only down side is that the ipod cable doesn't read my ipod

Just got an email the other day my update shipped... Pioneer has become very annoying to me. I canceled that order weeks ago! I specifically asked the girl if I need a confirmation number for the cancelation because I did NOT want to be charged for it... FUCK! I will never recommend Pioneer to anyone. A: their customer service is crap B: their units are over priced and don't work properly C: they charge their customer for updates on map system when they should be focusing on making the unit work I'm happy I didn't pay the full retail because if I did I'd be even more upset. Just curious. My ipod classic (120GB I think) will lose connection at random. Sometimes it will work all day but other days it needs to be disconnected and reconnect every time I turn the car on. Will the apple cable solve this issue? 2002 wrx F90BT Running 3.01

Finally did this right! I was making the mistake of leaving my hard wire bypass set on and it is what caused the navi and system settings to stay grey. I also had a folder that said "data" on it and I wasn't sure what that was all about so I deleted it off the SD card and made it look like the images above. This is really noob friendly. If you just follow the directions it works great. For the people that are having a hard time hitting edit, I used a mechanical pencil and it worked easy for me. Why try to fit your finger that close to the frame. Thank you for everyones help!

Ok so I took someone advice and checked out the by pass for DVD and that was the problem. When the switch is selected it won't give me access to those settings. When I flip it they high light and are functional. This is awesome. I had a working copy of 3.0 for a while now... -1 for my fail! +1 for this thread. I'm sorry I wasn't doing it right. It was easy to follow but I didn't have the confidence to trouble shoot it. I had it done right a while ago. Fellow noobs follow the directions and you should be fine.

please don't post same stuff on different threads, my bad, just trying to get as much exposure as possible because no one was answering. My hand brake isn't wired. I am downloading a different 3.0 file. I'm using the turboss one this time around. I'll see what happens tomorrow morning. By pass was done to a switch in the glove box. It is a hard wire by pass but not to the hand brake.

Someone please help. I have tried this update 4 times and I keep getting the same result. My system loads, every function seems to work but I don't have an active "navi settings" and "system settings". I've downloaded the 3.0 fresh off the torrent three times, I've used more than 1 SD card, I've followed the steps in multiple forums... what am I missing?

Anyway you can take a screen image of the folders that you had on your SD cards? I have to be missing something simple. I remember having 3.5 folder from the torrent, I had the test mode folder, the unzipped data folder, and the winCE files.

...well I don't mind asking more: I have looked in just about every thread I can find here for something that I thought would be very simple to find: does the 3.0 update that is outlined here have ANY differences than the one that costs us loyal users our $$? Are they identical? From what I understand. the 3.0 that is bouncing around is the same one that you get for your $70 bucks from pioneer. The difference is that the $70 that pioneer is charging is suppouse to have fixed the issues that the units have. Yet they didn't! So unless you want to pay $70 for a under done map update
