Rename it "Pictures", not "PICTURES".

Again, depending on price of update, if they decide to go that route we could all chip-in and buy one then share it. Like it was done with the service manual.
If this is a dramatic improvement update, I'll throw down, otherwise my 90 will be for sale come June (9140 release). Maybe what we need is a GB list of those who will chip in to get one update on the forum. The more people, the less $$ per person.

It is possible that the unit is defective. Does it happen when the car is not moving, or only when he's driving? If it's only when he's driving it could be a short somewhere, or perhaps a speaker went bad and is cutting all the sound out.

I'm out in suffolk but I won't charge you anything.

Can you take quality pictures of the screen so we can see what you're talking about? Take 3, one with the lowest brightness setting, one with the middle and one with the highest.

I have a friend who just bought the new Genesis with the navigation package. He asked me to bypass it for him so he doesn't have to put it in park to watch a movie. I'm not too keen on factory nav's so my question is, is it possible to do, and what's involved?
I'm guessing it gets a signal from the transmission to allow the funtions to work when the vehicle is in Park, so it'd be safe to say that wire will be at the radio harness, but my only concern is if it uses a CAN system to send that data.
Again, I can be completely wrong, I'm only guessing, but I searched and coudn't find any info on it, so maybe other installers here have more experience with this kind of thing.. Thanks in advance.

Does it matter that it's $640? It's $60 more than the 900, but it also comes with the iPod cable which is about $50, so really for $10 more you're getting a better warranty and higher volt preouts. Hell, I'd do that in a heartbeat.

I saw this wasn't answered----Is there anyway to change the background on your CD,FM,IPOD , not just the start up splash screen?
It actually has been answered lol.
Techniclly yes it can....but it requires hacking. And now it's a toss up because some members do not have the bckground file while others do.

The stealthplate is the best way to go, hands down. It's easy to make, it fools thieves, and it doesn't look suspicious.

And stop PM'ing me, I've told you time after time I can't help you, nor will I if I have to translate your damn french messages every time.

You can also delete the clock in the A/v interfaces. In image.res in I believe the AV folder, you'll see a bunch of blue digital numbers. make them all black and there will be no clock.

Looks good. I had an 02 lancer a couple years ago, could never find the double din kit.
I couldn't help but notice however that there is a 1/8" gap around the avic, I'd suggest getting a double din trim ring to fix that. Makes a big difference.

How the hell did you break the screen sliding it in!?
It's going to have to be sent in to Pioneer for repair...
-
I'm confused... the "software bypass" doesn't replace the "hardware bypass"?
It's either or. Not both.

have you tried disconnecting the camera and reconnecting it? maybe the unitn has to see it plugged in again..Also when you reset, was the camera polarity setting changed?
-
Try following Mapquest's directions and see how the unit reacts.
Out of curiosity, how far is your local Wal*Mart? 85 miles in the wrong direction is, a bit far...

CatchMe, whatta think?
He really couldnt've searched for this with good results because a)he didn't know the terminology for what he's looking for and b)it's not a widely discussed question either. I only read the FAQ once so I really don't remember what's on there, so if this is in there, shame on OP....but I digress. I'll be polite and Dumpy, it's not a cop-out
OP, what you're referring to is called Vehicle Dynamics, that function is not available on the F Series. AFAIK it's on the Z Series and possibly the N/D series'.

I never tried to just rename image.res to image.zip
You have it backwards. Rename it Image.res, DO NOT name it Image.zip

Nobody knows. One day he just stopped responding. It's a shame too because he was a big contributor and was funny as hell too. Hope all is well with him.

Yes, but catching it at the white/green wire under the dash behind the kick panel is much easier than having to run a wire through the firewall. Why would you when the same signal is available inside the car? [My info came from the factory wiring diagrams and has been verified on three cars, two of them mine.]
If I had the info that you did, I would go for the white/green wire. I was only posting what info I had available.

S4, that's a pretty sexy goat.....wait, what?
Sofa, go tend to your boyfriend before he smacks you around again. Hifisi hasn't been on this site for months, so insult someone who's actually going to read it next time, douchebag.

6th Ave just sells ridiculously low. They probably order a bunch of them which bigger orders = bigger discounts, and they just sell them cheap and make more sales

If that's how you feel, then go for it. Although I can't agree with you, since your question was answered twice in this thread. But instead of disregarding the few that told you to search and appreciate the one who did answer your question, you stereotyped the whole forum. Take care.

There was some speculation of the OS being case-sensitive a while back, but AFAIK it's never been confirmed, although a few months ago I cae across a guy whotried to change the data.zip and it wouldn't load because it was not written EXACTLY how it was supposed to be.
OP, try a USB drive.
