yeah, it should change automatically. the orange illumination wire must not be hooked up. get that hooked to a circuit that only has power when your headlights come on.

i am a COMPLETE newbie at this and with the info given, i was able to get it to work on the first burn. dowloaded the free trial version of powerISO and used Memorex DVD+R DL discs. thanks for everyones input

thanks for the tips guys. just finished everything up. i ended up taking a wire through the firewall and hooked into the low beam fuse.

i am trying to figure out a problem. i installed the D3 in my '03 CTS. The night illumination will not work. i contacted crutchfield support about the problem and they pretty much told what i already knew, that there was not a dedicated illumination wire. anyone have any ideas?
