  1. Mine just started going to black screen after the splash screen today, out of the blue...

After reading this thread, and seeing what I have to do to fix it... I'm pissed off. I've already done the updating process twice now, being an early adopter...

Now, to see that I'm going to have to dick with this thing on my day off tomorrow for a few hours, just has me REALLY ticked off and hating Pioneer at this point. Of course, no dealer is going to offer to fix it, and I'm sure they're not warrantying any of this crap.

*middle finger* to Pioneer... never again.

  2. Yeah, I see there's two different XM modules listed...

The one that you mentioned, the GEX-P10XMT, and the other is the GEX-P920XM

The GEX-P920XM is half the price of the one you suggested. I'm curious what the difference is? On the pioneer site, it says the P10 has NavTraffic but the F-series uses MSN Direct for traffic, right?

I want the station logo displayed, so is that something that only the P10XMT will do?

  3. Apparently, things have changed and you need to buy like 2 pieces now to get the XM to work?

Does anybody know EXACTLY what I need to add XM to my F900bt? Model numbers or part numbers of the pieces I need would be EXTRA awesome... I'm sick of my same old iPod music!

  4. Last week I was driving, and it sounded like all of the sudden the drivers side sound wasn't working... I thought I was going crazy, and went to the balance screen, and selected balance towards the left, and I could hear sound on the drivers side speakers, it was just REALLY quiet.

Today it happened again! This time, the passenger side went quiet... so I adjusted the balance "+6" to the right, and it sounds normal again! :(

Now I have to listen to it +6 to the right, and at volume 48 instead of 40 where I used to listen to it to be full volume.

What the hell is going on?

  5. HiFi you don't count cause we know you don't use most of the features. :D

I was just thinking that... doesn't care about bluetooth, or voice controls... or traffic... or ANYTHING?? lol

If HiFi wanted sound quality only, there's many decks that do a better job, cheaper...

  6. I couldn't stand Samantha.... had to change back to Jason.

I would rather have a voice that was bearable, over that half-retarded sounding computer voice.

Plus, it warns you a RIDICULOUS amount of times before a turn... so it's hard to miss even if you don't hear the actual name. You can glance over and read it.

  7. Another reason I am sorely upset with this head-unit...

The Weather works 50% of the time.

The Movie Times work 50% of the time, and no theaters near me are on the list.

The Gas Prices seem to work, but a large majority say "unknown station" which matters a lot to me, because I only buy Chevron.

The Traffic is my biggest gripe. I was picturing like they show it on the Garmin units, and like my TL used to have... Green, Yellow, and Red traffic flow.

Seems that it ONLY shows red sections, and accidents... You can't see the yellow and green's, so it's really hard to judge most sections of road.

I LIVE IN LOS ANGELES!!! You would think if there was ONE city where all the functions worked well, it would be here...

I'm really about ready to sell this thing.

  8. Press the menu and center button both at the same time on your ipod. If done correctly, it will power down then power back up by itself. Also verify it has the most current firmware.

For the Bluetooth, relocate it to a better position, preferably in the center of the vehicle, away from glass to prevent wind noise. The overhead console is about the best choice.

    Good luck!

I reset and re-synced the ipod... and it seems to hook up to the unit now. Why did it lock the ipod up to begin with? And what makes the ipod all of the sudden STOP working out of nowhere, and say "please reconnect" for? It's driving me nuts.

Also, relocating the microphone won't help. I can hold it IN MY HAND in front of my mouth, and the quality is no better.

That, and the bluetooth interface is full of bugs as it is. When I make a call, SOMETIMES the screen with the hang-up icon and volume comes up... sometimes it doesn't, making adjusting volume or hanging up impossible!!! What the hell?
