You guys are funny! Thanks for the info. Is there a way to transfer the songs from one unlocked hdd to another if I purchase an upgrade hdd?

All the info that I can find is on removing the HDD and hacking it to install the updated image of the Z3 software. I'm looking for an image of the update disc that can be burned to DVD for installing in the vehicle, just as the update disc is intended, without having to remove the HDD or loosing any data saved to it. I would even be open to paying someone a discounted price for the original disc, if only to sell it again to someone like me trying to avoid the possibility of killing the HDD and making the unit turn into an expensive decoration. I have a Z1 with Z3 software and the 2008 maps. I want to update it with the 2009 maps. I can't seem to find a thread that explains how to do this without replacing the hard drive and loosing all my saved songs. Can anyone help?

I notice that there are some errors on the z3 maps that I have. Some are at least 2 years old. I'm happy that the I-15 exit numbers are correct The D.O.T. changed the numbers by 2 a few years ago. Not everyone got the memo. Is there a version update for the maps? If not does anyone know if there will be one soon Thanks for all who put up with me. I'm a nubie at the AVIC.

I bought a Rosen LCD overhead screen on E-bay (I know, I know!) and it has a nine pin configuration connecter. Does anyone know what the wire code is for this so I can convert to RCA? I have been trying to find any info on it from the internet, however I can not find unit on any site. Rosen Aviation, Rosen Entertainment, I'm so confused? Who even makes this unit? I just purchased a z1 and upgraded to a 40gb with z3 software. I love the unit, however I feel I am missing out on some cool options ie; bluetooth, xm navtraffic, etc. If anyone has or knows of someone who has a used but working ND-BT1 and/or xm module please let me know. Thank you very much. I was not aware of how to get to that screen. I have comfirmed that I do have the z3 software. I can't get into the phone menu. The manual states to hold the menu button. Does it require the nd-bt1 to even access it?

as well, the manual for the z3 indicates you can access the phone menu by holding the menu button. Does the nd-bt1 have to be installed to access this menu, because it will not come up for me. Thanks

I'm wondering if anyone can verify for me that I have the new Z3 software as the person who sold me the HDD claimed. I can't find an option in the menus to look up the version, however this is a picture of the "service information" screen. This is the only thing I could find. The splash screen does indicate a cw of 2008.

I took the plunge and did not hood it up. At times it is inacurate, however it does correct itself quite often. I believe it to be a very minor thing. I would not recommend hooking up the wire if you have to do a lot of digging to get to it, like me. Thanks to all for your input

Is the speed signal input wire required? Will it function properly without it. I have never understood why this is needed. The thing is GPS! It should know my location, aprox speed without speed signal input.

I have a z1 and want to upgrade the hard drive. I am confused on how to get to the hard drive for removal and reinstalation. The seller of the hard drive did not give me this. Can anyone help me with instruction on dismantling the unit ?
