Check your batch file, the path should be: "C:\Program Files\Windows Mobile 6 SDK\PocketPC\DeviceEmulationV610\0409\PPC_USA.bin"

For your viewing pleasure... here is a click by click video I made of steps 1-4. http://rapidshare.com/files/148627688/W ... M.swf.html I don't have the "My Flash Disk" folder on my work computer, so you will have to work from the written instructions for the rest.

what if I said everything? Im sorry I got lost after step 1.... Uhh... If you cant download a file, you're in the wrong forum. But seriously, has anyone had a chance to fire up this VM on their machine? While I can get the main menu and phone menu to work, I can never get past the Navi warning message.

Ok, so I think I figured out what paradroid meant in his post. Step by step: 1. Download and install these: Mobile Emulator ----->http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/info.aspx?na=46&p=2&SrcDisplayLang=en&SrcCategoryId=&SrcFamilyId=c62d54a5-183a-4a1e-a7e2-cc500ed1f19a&u=http%3a%2f%2fdownload.microsoft.com%2fdownload%2fc%2fb%2fb%2fcbb8bc58-07b9-46bb-86ba-d12bb0d9b1d9%2fV1Emulator.zip&oRef=http%3a%2f%2fwww.christec.co.nz%2fblog%2farchives%2fcategory%2fdebugging Windows Mobile 5 Image ----->http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/info.aspx?na=46&p=1&SrcDi
  6. Adobe Captivate is an excellent program. You can output instructions/videos in multiple formats. It even writes out the steps for you. Ex: Click here, type this, open this file, etc.
  7. Well, that solves my problem. It looks like my headunit had some kind of software and hardware issue. My replacement headunit read the SD card and USB drive immediately without making any changes to my existing file structure. There was always an issue with the SD slot in my old headunit, it would go half way in and then I would have to wiggle it in the rest of the way. The SD card slot in the new headunit slides in smoothly and feels stronger/firmer. Stephanie, I tried your suggestion before I removed my old headunit. But I got the same result. But both my 2GB (with
  8. I would have believed that to be my issue if I hadn't tried putting music directly on the root of the card/USB. But I will make sure to put some music one folder up. My current folder structure looks like this: Root ----->Music ---------->Artist --------------->Album -------------------->Song I'll try it before I replace my current F700 as well as with the new one.
  9. I bought an 8GB Class 6 Transcend card and cannot get it to read music off of it. It reads data/background/boots to Windows off of the card. But it will not even read the folder structure of the card when I try to play music or video. It think its a software issue with my headunit, as I have the exact same issue reading from USB. My replacement F700 arrived today and I'll see if the new one reads the music. SD Cards I have tried: 128 Mb Sandisk (FAT/FAT16/FAT32) - Reads data 2 GB Adata (FAT/FAT16/FAT32) - Reads data 2 GB Kingston (FAT/FAT16/FAT32) - Reads data 8 GB Transcend
  10. Yeah, apparently the F series doesn't sort alphabetically. When you open the phonebook database in SQLite Browser there is a ID column. That column is what the F uses to sort. Just change the number in the ID column so that your contacts show up alphabetically.
  11. See page 154 in the operations manual. It tells you what gets reset using reset method 1, 2 or 3. I don't know which method corresponds to what option. I'm assuming pushing the reset button is method 1. But that's all I can assume.
  12. A couple of days ago I stumbled upon a pleasant surprise. After I had reset my headunit using the RESET+EJECT method, my caller id started working. I was practically giddy when a couple of people called me and the id showed up. My database is formated in 18131234567
  13. What file system is the SD card in? FAT/FAT16/FAT32? It cannot be in NTFS. You should also have the Mitacap and Testmode folder on the root of the SD card. Have you checked to make sure your SD card slot works? Copy a background image from the card to the headunit.
  14. My phone rings every time I call out. Moto Krzr K1 on T-mobile (GSM phone if anyone's wondering). It looks like a lot if the phone issues we're having are phone dependent.
  15. lol... BSG rocks. I can't wait for the last few episodes.
  16. ugh... no such luck. I added a plus sign to all of my numbers and I still get "new mail from: unknown" on text messages. But I have the full number saved on my phone, and the ID shows correctly there. I haven't tested caller id yet, but I'm not holding my breath. Phone: Moto Krzr K1 Service: T-Mobile and Superjet, I don't write while driving. But I do read at stops. Skicrave, it might be the communication between the F series and your phone. But it should tell you you have a message. Samantha says "You have got a message". <--I'd like to know who programmed he
  17. I have all of my contacts added to my F700 and correctly tagged (home, mobile, work). But whenever someone calls it shows "unknown" and the number. The same thing for text messages. It says I have a new message from "unknown". I thought it might have been because my phone adds a 1 to all received numbers. Example: 1(813)123-4567 So I edited my phonebook and added 1 to all numbers. No dice. Still shows unknown. So I edited again and removed the 1 from all of my numbers. Same result. So I was wondering if it was just me. Does anyone else's caller id and/or t
  18. I thought I would add a little to this post... I copied my Phonebookxxx.db file to my computer, but SQLite is a command line program and was not very user friendly. So I went out and found something much simpler to use. http://sqlitebrowser.sourceforge.net/index.html This program has a GUI and you can add/remove/edit contacts in a method similar to Access. I have already put my corrected phonebook file back on my F700 and it worked beautifully. Happy modding...
  19. Jascias you are the man! That did it. I can drag the copy box out of the way and access the desktop. The copy box refuses to close but as long as it's not keeping focus i'm happy. Boy you guys weren't kidding when you said the touch screen is inaccurate. I'll have to calibrate it later. Thanks everyone...
  20. Hi everyone, thanks for the input thus far. I have been using the stylus as my fingers are too big to hit the buttons in windows mode. But the same result. I have tried double clicking the close/OK buttons. I have even tried multiple formats for the SD card FAT/FAT32. The only thing I haven't tried is jascias' suggestion. I'll give that a shot tonight. Skicrave, I wanted to edit the phonebookxxxx.db file to fix my contacts. From reading this forum I see Stephanie beat me to it this morning. LOL. If this fails again, I may have to take a video of it just to show you
  21. Bumpity Bump... I would really like to fix my contacts. So can anyone suggest what to modify to enter Windows mode? Pioneer has changed their update instructions a couple of times, where there different files used to enter Windows mode before?
  22. Hi everyone, I downloaded the necessary files to enter Windows mode from the following post. I get to the copying files part and I can see the start button and taskbar, but no matter what I do (click OK, click X, minimize, show desktop, etc) The background turns green and becomes completely unresponsive. Any ideas as to what I could be doing wrong? Here ya go! [*:3fp3963q]Put these 2 folders on the root of an SD card [*:3fp3963q]Insert the card in the AVIC with power off [*:3fp3963q]Turn on the power and let it boot [*:3fp3963q]It will copy a few files. These should be the same
  23. I haven't had any recognition issues with any of my voice commands. My only problem is that all of my contacts where copied with a "General" category, instead of "Home", "Mobile", etc. So when I say call so and so "Mobile", it can't find and entry for mobile.
  24. I installed my F700BT yesterday and it was pretty straight forward. My car has the factory Infinity speakers and amp so I ordered a Metra 70-7003 adapter to plug into the amp. My car didn't require any special mounting hardware as the factory headunit was double-din. I ran my mic up the A-pillar and clipped it on my visor next to the A-pillar. The GPS receiver is under the dash just behind the clockpod in the second picture. There was a nice flat spot in there that was a perfect fit for the metal mat and receiver. Sorry about the picture quality, I took them with my camera phone
  25. So I was browsing Pioneers authorized online dealers and clicked my way to ABT.com. They currently have the F700BT for $647 once you put it in the cart. http://www.abt.com/product/35628.html This is the best price I've seen for this unit from an authorized dealer.
