  1. [i've bought my last three Pioneer units from Amazon (which is usually a "sold through" some other company) but every time I've had warranty issues I send in my receipt from amazon and have never been questioned. Currently $89.95 plus ship ] WOW! I'm gonna order me ten at that price!
  2. With a product that's had as many issues as the F series has, I'd check with Pioneer and make sure you'll get factory warrantee support. This sounds like an unauthorized dealer to me. I buy gray market electronics fairly often but the couple of hundred saved could possibly bite you in the butt later on. It looks like returning it could be tough and will cost a 15% restocking fee. Just my 2 pennies worth.
  3. I'd have to say no. After spending a month with the Kenwood DNX8120 that replaced the F900BT, I couldn't see any reason to even consider going back to the Pioneer. I have a system that works 100%, a bigger brighter screen, bluetooth that is crystal clear. I don't do the iPod thing so maybe that would matter if I did. My USB supports a hard drive. I currently have a 160gb Toshiba connected. The HD radio works great and the XM works great. DVD's are crystal clear and the supposedly lower resolution makes little or no difference while driving and I have better things to do than watch movie
  4. I agree with MadFlavor. I also was nearing my 30 day return window and went with the DNX8120. I don't think this was a lack of patience as someone suggested. The product should have worked better and a fair amount of money was at risk. I'm glad that the update has fixed a lot of the problems for many of you guys but based on the posts here, it still sounds like bluetooth is hit and miss. Mine never did work, period. Not just bad audio but totally useless audio both directions. The Kenwood worked from the start with perfect audio with the mic in exactly the same location as the Pioneer.
  5. Another F900BT is headed back to Crutchfield. I put in the new DNX8120 last Friday and it appears everything is working fine. The bluetooth worked from the git go with no issues and very clear audio using my LG Chocolate. The 900BT never could make an intelligible call. I love the bigger screen on the Kenwood and even though some of the menus aren't quite as pretty, they are done in bigger fonts and are much easier for me to see while driving. The screen is definately brighter. I can see it clearly in daylight under almost all conditions. I also installed the KW HD tuner and the GXM30 X
  6. I've had no problems with the SD playback. I've been using a 2gig card with no problems. I just ordered a 4gig card so once it's in I'll post again if I have problems. On a side note, I just noticed Circuit City now has the F900BT on their site with an arrival time of 8/23/08. I hope that doesn't imply the fix will take that long. Mine seems to be working fine with the exception of the bluetooth (LG Chocolate) audio garbled in both directions (even with mic unplugged) and the slow boot up. XM works fine, the SD audio works fine, DVD works fine, navigation seems ok but haven't really us
  7. I just finished the install in my 2008 Altima coupe. I'll post a picture if anyone is interested. It pays to do a search on problems. I had the famous air bag light problem but found the cure here quickly. Everything works good with the exception of the bluetooth (distorted audio) which seems to be a problem for everyone. I'll tackle that problem as time allows but for now I'm just glad to have my beloved XM back again. BTW, did the bypass that's posted here and so far (close to 100 miles) everything is working great. Thanks.
