  1. After installing my 2.0 firmware it looks like my USB hard drive will not work. It worked with the last version. Has anyone else had issues with USB drives after upgrade?
  2. Are you really sure this works? I have a KML file with about 1,000 items and only 300 show up on my F700. I open the KML from my SD card and there are 50 pages of POIs listed. Each page shows 6 POIs. 6x50=300 So I'm missing the rest of my POIs. Are you really sure it's possible to list more from one single KML? Do you think all the POIs are there and active but the Nav is only showing me the closest 300?
  3. First of all. To use the SEARCH feature you need to have your Parking Brake on or have the ignition off. Unless you've bypassed that. Go to POI and click Around My Current Location or whatever... then you'll see the SEARCH button on the bottom left of the screen. I used it all day today making sales calls. Works very well.
  4. This is all exciting stuff. Have you found any sort of system startup script yet? I have a feeling these units take so long to boot up because they're trying to load too many processes all at once. If you could control what processes start when the system is turned on then you could probably slim it down to the basics and get a faster boot time. I bet that every time my unit turns on it loads all the Navi software in the background. Well, maybe I only use that once or twice a month. I'd rather only wait for the Navi software to load if I press the MAP button or Destination button.
  5. Wow. Talk about "ask and you shall receive" The damn thing works great.
  6. So it looks like the native POI file format is KML. This is great. It's a standard format google uses. You can create a whole list of POIs using something http://www.poieditor.com/ and save a KML file to your SD Card. Make sure it's in a folder called "POI" on the root. The feature that looks really really great is the Google Maps native integration. According to the HELP file of Avic Feeds you should be able to use Google Maps to find what you want to add, then using the SEND option on Googles site, "Send To GPS" I would assume this adds the location to your SD card. The only problem is,
  7. Ok, I've seemed to have found a work around. As long as your unit is NOT using the USB Drive when you turn it off the next time you turn it on the boot time is short again. So before I turn off my car I always go to my Sirius tuner first. I guess the unit doesn't like to boot up in USB mode. However, even after booting up to Sirius and then picking the USB it still takes about 45sec to Scan the 25gig of music on the drive. Does it every time. It just refuses to remember the file structure.

Has anyone heard anything about the AVIC FEED software coming out? I bought this things because Pioneer said I'd be able to upload POIs onto my SD Card. I'm a sales rep and this feature is VERY useful to me. Where the hell is the software? It's been a couple months now.
  9. Well, I got a USB Hard Drive to work. The F series USB port does not put out enough power to run a USB drive. I tried a few different kinds. So you need a USB power source to get the thing going. As for the Auto-Reconnect issue. It seems to be better than the USB stick I was using before. The Hard Drive reconnect on startup about 80% of the time. I have about 25gb worth of mp3s on there. The unit takes about 2min to boot now. It used to be about 30sec. I think it's scanning the USB drive to map out the file structure. I think the file structure should be saved on the unit to incr
  10. Does anyone know why? Does it not put out enough power? Or does WinCE just not support it?
  11. I got the WD Passport but the F700BT doesn't see it. It powers up fine. Any ideas why? It works on my PC. Has anyone out there actually used one of these drives on an F series?
  12. Well, in my car those settings can not be changed unless the Emergency Brake is ON. Try that.
  13. This forum needs a spot where everyone can list the things that are still not working correctly even after the Firmware update. Lets make it easy for Pioneer to see what they still need to work on. We all know they're watching this forum. Make your issue LARGE font so it's easy to pick out. I'll get it started. 1. If a USB Stick is plugged into my F700BT when I turn on my car the USB device is not detected. I have to unplug and replug the USB Stick to get the unit to recognize it again. After I uploaded the firmware it seemed that this issue was resolved but it started happening again the n
  14. 700BT All my problems seem to have been solved. 1. Bluetooth quality. 100% Better. 2. USB MP3 doesn't skip when NAV is runnings. 3. MP3 tracks don't clip off the last few seconds. 4. NAV voice commands are not scratchy/low quality 5. 8gb USB Stick is AutoDetected without having to unplug and replug everytime I turn on the unit. Now all I want is the software package to release for my PC that will allow me to load POIs on my SD card. I'm really looking forward to this feature being in sales and constantly visiting new customers.
  15. It seems that if I turn off my car the next time I turn it on the USB connection to my 700 is lost. I have to unplug my USB stick and plug it back in for the unit to see it again. My USB stick is getting power, the light is on, the 700 is just not seeing it. Is this a known issue or do I have a cheap USB stick? I have a feeling it's just another bug. The 700 needs to scan for USB devices when it boots up, but it's not. "side question. anyone know of a nice big hard drive that is powered by a single USB port? I have a drive with 2 usb plugs. One for power one for data. It doesn't
