  1. Well good news, I went down to the local stereo shop and purchased a line driver for the sub preouts. It worked like a champ, It brought the lowly 2v up to 4.2 and my system was booming once more:) Talking with the install guy he was telling me that wasn't the first time he's had to do that, as he discribed it, the AVIC series, in order to compete price wise put a smaller amp to save cost while keeping the video/multimedia side rich. All I know is for 20 bucks, I got my boom back:D Thanks everyone for your help and interest!:) ~k
  2. This morning, after doing alittle research, I learned that the N2 is pushing 2v while my older P6500dvd is pushing 4v. Previously, I didn't up the gain on the amp, but this time I up it to the max then maxed out the settings in the unit and I am now getting some rumble from the sub. I'm thinking if I get a line driver to bring up that 2v to 4v it will help/solve the problem? ~k
  3. yup, it seems like the remote cable is working properly, I put a voltmeter to it and it's getting 12. ~k
  4. My last test of the system: -bought new AMP and new AMP wiring kit. -installed old 7400mp cd deck to new amp and old sub. -amp and sub worked perfectly with old deck, bass was responsive and accurate. -removed old cd deck and reconnected N2 with amp and sub connected the same as above. -On the N2 I set the preouts to subw and played a cd-------nothing -On the N2 I set the preouts to full and played a cd---------nothing -On the N2 I turned up all sub related setting to max-------nothing -I trying all 3 preout inputs (front, rear, sub) ----------------nothing -I reset the
  5. as far as I know it is, under initial setup, rear speaker: I've changed it to sub, and full and I get crappy results on both. If I turn the amp up all the way, and all the eq settings for bass up all the way, I get a faint rumble of a whisper:( On my p6500DVD I had to have most of those settings at 0 or negative? Is there another setting for the sub to be turned on? ~k
  6. First off, AWESOME site! I needed this site about 3 weeks ago when my 6500dvd crapped out. the sticky talking about the flex cable and then the blunder of breaking the flip hinge thing was exactly what I did, doh! So, I bought the N2 as an upgrade and just installed it, everything is working great except I get almost no signal from the subwoofer preouts. I get power from the remote cable the AMPs is on and everything is connected correctly. I've tested my amp, sub and cables with another head unit and it works great. I have no clue on this. Any help would be very much appreicat
