  1. Cool thanks that is what I thought. Mike
  2. So when you say native you mean from the factory I am assuming? Mike
  3. Thanks a ton man I appreciate it, I replied to your pm. Just thought of one other thing, I know that Pioneer says that you have to update the ROM to be able to update to new gracenotes, is this a true statement? Thanks Mike
  4. This will probably be a question for garrett as he is the master. I hate to say it but I purchased a 60GB drive that was not from here or from garrett for that matter, to upgrade from Z2 to Z3. Loaded the drive and it works perfect, never had an issue with it. With keeping up with the times I would like to load the latest software to the drive for maps and Gracenote and all that, but I look at the version that I currently have installed is 3.0000 as listed on the service info screen. Now would I be ok to load the new Gracenote update and the map update when that comes out? Or will I have issue
  5. Cool thanks fellas, all your input is greatly appreciated. Captain InsaneO, it is cool man, I had to laugh at myself to. Thanks again guys. Mike
  6. The way that I found works the best for these screws is to take the 0 philips and grind the tip off of it so that it isn't a point anymore, pulls them out everytime, only done this on three drives as of late, but it pulled them out without a hitch. Mike
  7. Ok went out and I got it figured out. Looked at the install directions again and I had the IP BUs cable hooked to the input instead of the output I guess that is what I get for not looking hard enough at it. Anyway thanks again, The question on the ground to the metal plate for the antenna still stands, let me know when you get the chance, thanks Mike
  8. Oh one other thing on the GPS antenna, yeah the metal is down, gee, I am not that dense But should is be bonded to ground, I would assume yes. Thanks Mike
  9. Thanks bud. I don't have the subscription yet, but yes on the preview channel it tells you what it is, and emergency channel. That is all that I see right now. As far as the Ip Bus this is all that I have hooked up right now to it. I am sure the color codings matter on the IP Bus cable, I put those in as the manual stated to, blue to the receiver and didn't say on the Z, I will go out and look again and make sure that I got everything hooked up right. Thanks for the reply. I will report back with what I find. Mike
  10. Hey there all, I had an interesting thing yesterday when I was hooking up my XM Nav Traffic unit to my Z2 flashed to Z3. I don't have a subscription yet and everything is talking fine to my Z2, but on the preview channels there is no audio. I thought that I should at least get that, am I doing something wrong. I have all the cabling hooked up correctly, good signal and the Z2 tells me what station it is, data cable is also hooked up with the IP-Bus cable. Any enlightenment on this would be great, another thing that I have to call XM about is that I bought my XM Nav Traffic unit used a
  11. how does the hook up work for a dvd changer, ip bus cable and take the video to the aux vid in?
  12. Yeah that is why I was looking for a DVD changer for DVD's on a road trip you know. Thanks for your reply. Mike
  13. Hey there all pretty new to this site and everything and I just recently purchased a Z2 and I am in the midst of installing all of it. I was really thinking it would be a good thing to install DVD changer to the whole setup, what do you all think? What I also did was upgrade the drive to 60GB with the Z3 image. What options do I have, I have been searching and it doesn't seem the Pioneer makes a DVD changer anymore, but I did find a XDV-P6 and an XDV-P9 that I could get. I would rather go with something like the P9 and I would like to put it in the trunk, the P6 looks like it is an in dash
  14. Yeah mine works fine, put it in tonight. One thing that you all may want to try when removing your drives, the small philips screws, take the zero bit and rgrind the tip of it off, works better and won't strip. Garrett thanks for you time on this one. Seems to be working ok, I haven't taken it for a drive or anything like that yet, but seems alright. Mike
  15. Thanks, I did pm Garrett with my concerns on the unit and he did tell me if I was truly worried about it I could send him the drive and have him check it out for me and send it back. I may just do that, but there shouldn't be any harm in putting the drive in and see if it works, as I would still have the original backup. I wish that I had found this site earlier and I would of just ordered one from Garrett. It is the correct drive though, Toshiba 60GB and not looking at the software itself and just going off what the auction said it is the correct load and not the mash up version. I guess
