Has the 4.0 version been posted on the download site? I see the 3.8, is that actually 4.0 now?
  4. peace out.

So my radio and phone will work just like before? yes I have seen a difference in the phone operation. Ordinarily, when I audibly call a number, the screen would return to the map, where you may change the volume of the caller and hang up when finished. This mod does not do that, it remains on the "Call" screen. If you push the map button, the map is displayed, but the phone volume becomes so low you cannot hear the called person. The call must be cancelled and started again to regain the volume. even if i try to use the phone separately to hear the called person, because bluetooth is still enabled, the volume remains low.
  5. Blackberry Working

    Have you tried this? http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17424
  6. So you get it connected and it disconnects? Or you can't pair it at all? Let's say you get it connected and it quits, go into the "Properties" of the selected bluetooth device on your BB, mine is "Pioneer Nav". Now be sure you have "Trusted" set to yes. you can leave Encryption on, also when you initailly connect , you have a choice to reconnect and not ask you again, make a choice there. Now maybe it connects and then disconnects, check your address book and see if you have a bunch of duplicate entries, or maybe you have more than 300. I think the limit of entries is 300, you'll have to check on that. Other than that the instructions in the manual are pretty much right on.
  7. More F90 BT Issues

Your challenge may be the amount of entries you have. Doesn't the F900 only support a maximum of 300 addresses?
  8. More F90 BT Issues

I have an F900 and had trouble with a Blackberry Curve and a Blackberry 8830. In both cases it would sync and connect and then drop the connection. I tried a co-workers 8830 and had no problem, tried another 8830 and had no problem. So what was wrong with my 8830? I had a lot of duplicate profiles in my address book. I cleared my address book, because that was the only thing that was different between my Blackberry and the other users Blackberry, it worked! I cleaned up the duplicate entries in my address book and the BT works well now.

  10. Too Hot to Work!

Brilliant! I will try the fan, that is a good idea regardless of the AVIC problem!
  11. Too Hot to Work!

Well the F900BT shows a lot of potential, it's like everything that is new, unitl you send it to the world, you never know what will happen. I keep it under shade all day, and I don't have a problem. It's just when I park in the sun, like when I go to lunch. I have a 2003 C5 Corvette Coupe so the sun shades on that back windw pose quite a challenge, impossible really.
  12. Too Hot to Work!

Well it's the desert, what can I say. Sun shades keep the dash and steering wheel cooler because the direct sun is shaded, you can cover the entire car, but that will not change the interior ambient temperature too much. Nature 1, Pioneer 0.
  13. Too Hot to Work!

I live in Phoenix Arizona and I have an F900BT installed in my car. After reading "BIG problem! F900 doesn't like mornings - won't switch on!" I think I found the answer to my problem. "HiFiSi" states the maximum temperature "on" is 140 degrees and "off" is 176 degrees. Now I am sure that the Pioneer engineers never thought that anyone would drive around in a car that is at 140 degrees, but how about one that is locked in the sun with the temperature over 110 degrees? Yep it gets to 140 inside, no problem. so when you get in your car and start it up, sure you have the A/C on, and it does start to cool down, but that unit still has to be over the 140 degrees. That is why (I'm guessing here) my unit works fine when I leave for work in the morning, but does not work at all in the afternoon drive home. And it's pretty consistent for me.
  14. So this temperature range precludes anyone living in a desert from using this unit. Great work on the part of the engineers! I will be returning my F900BT to the dealer.
