3) Allow us to have something other than black as the background for A/V source playback. I'd rather have a nice red or blue background than just a greyish/black background with white letters.

it can be done. just edit IMAGE.RES ... it's not too hard, just take the time to try and figure it out. i could possibly do it for you, for a small frustration fee. call me a jerk, but its a pretty long job.

hahahah, good call. and you don't need a 4gb card to transfer the whole flash disk. it's a little less than 2gb... and i even used a 128 for a little bit to copy data.zip and image.res

i suppose i had kinda the same problem.... i used some crappy SD card, a 512 actually, and kept running into errors, but then i got a sweet 4gb card cheap at CC (sandisk) and it worked like a charm.

...get a new card.

or find somebody on the forum who lives near you and see if they'll help you do it. where was this shop?

how come every time i try and update my firmware, when it is doing the file checks it always finds a file that is "wrong." this is unreal, i did everything the way i was supposed to but i keep trying it and every time it's a different file.

can anyone help?

i tried to kill 2 birds with one stone... and put my modded data.zip and image.res on the SD prior to updating.

it didnt work. don't try it. just wait till the update is done, then do it. i suppose it reviews the files for integrity or something. who knows...

and mine shows caller ID... and you cannot change anything on the cd until the interface shows up, which is about like i said 30 seconds. but at least you hear something...

and its not 30 seconds for cds. my audio on cd starts in about 5 seconds. 30 to full boot...

nope... the screen is fine... its 1.2 inches smaller than say the z series, but still does the job.

nobody else has those features that i know of, and definitely not for the price.

i've gotten used to the boot time, so its really a non-issue for me, and eventually will be for you too

circuit city definitely does better installations. i work in the roadshop, im not an installer... but people come to us to fix their BB installs all the time... they're nasty and we have to fix them

the bypass for the D3 is not hard to do, you just have to get the radio out... there's tutorials on the forum about this...

and hifisi is right, the fact that it is in park means nothing. the e-brake has to be up, it's the only way for the radio to "notice."

and it's not true that installers wont do the bypass. you gotta sweet talk them... and pay them.

the ib100II is connected just as you said... its 3 square corners and one rounded... there *should* be a cable that comes with it that is identical on both ends... plug one into each end, obviously. then, you have to run power (yellow) and ground (blk).. and it should work.

and also your service engine light may have come on if you disconnected something with the airbags... a plug or something like that. i dont know how the 350z is, but it could be your problem.

and VSS really isn't necessary. it just tracks your speed when you lose GPS signal. so yeah relocate your antenna. i find it works better OUTSIDE the car, not the ghetto dash mount.

yeah, it was pretty easy, just take em in to paint and brush over till the whole thing is black... i was thinking of doing that, but i haven't gotten around to it yet...

that could be it. actually that is most likely the problem. it's too late to get into it tonight though... ill keep you guys updated if i figure it out...

didn't work. the "staring up" box didn't go away, and it wouldn't let me into the map screen. i reverted back to my previous data.zip

any way to change the clock color so you can have one for day and one for night?

i just messed with the AV screens... got everything to go black, just like the original, pre-launch pics look. it's really sleek... i can put up pics if anyone wants... as well as host my image.res

i did check that out, and the settings are fine. it's weird that it happened out of nowhere... what could possibly be the problem?
