  1. Yes, it sounds like not enough juice/shorting problem
  2. I have/had the same problem with my H2. there are a couple of orange wires (from GM adapter harness)one supplies constant voltage when lights are on the other is variable use the other one. The muting issue is also just a improper connection as well, most of my trouble came programing the steering wheel buttons. Good luck
  3. everything except the final pics still trying to make it pretty. Will post soon
  4. I did the same thing in my jeep thought I smoked my new HU. did the same trace back procedure, found there are 2 fuses in my kick panel to replace for radio.... one was blown one was not. also might want to try to locate where you shorted the yellow wire (causing the fuse to blow) make sure you dont have any exposed wire that might cause a fire later.
  5. after reading reading reading I have managed to install my z2 bypassed into my Jeep grand cherokee ltd. I Know it's a 1.5D.... HA! true to the nature of most of you guys I was resolved to find that extra inch and a half for the sweetest thing with a screen. added bt,xm,guide speaker, & it all works through my existing infinity gold system (upgraded speakers of course). a sawsall and a grinder a small fire and some body filler about 4 days and the unit in and out about 100 times and now we are all rolling. Thanks for all the help and ideas. If anyone has questions for a older jeep instal
