  1. I went with the Amazon deal plus I signed up for the Amazon credit card and got $40 off my purchase. So ended up only costing me $135 for it. That's not to bad.

I will just cancel the card after my first bill. BTW the $40 credit will not show up on the check out it will show up on your billing statement.

Let me know when you get it, I want to see if they include both SD cards, one for the Navi upgrade and the other for the Bluetooth upgrade. If so, I'll do the same.

  2. I have the same exact problem!!! Before iPhone 4 or iOS4 my contacts on the AVIC-Z110 were sorted by first name and then last name. Now they are sorted by last name then first name. Is there any way to change this? I went into every single option on the headunit. On my phone they are sorted by first name and last name so I'm not sure why it didn't sync over the same way. Before it wasn't a problem... Maybe this is a bug?

  3. I'm having the same problem. Searched tirelessly and have been unsuccessful. Have you found a solution?

I haven't tried the new testmode that VBLUE42 linked to yet. Here is the link to the thread: viewtopic.php?f=64&t=27989

Here is the link to directly download the new testmode: http://www.gpssoftware.us/avic/30/testmode.zip

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm hoping to try it tonight. I'll be sure to post up my results. If you get to it before me, post your results. Thanks!

  4. Which version of testmode are you using and which software version is on the unit right now? Also you might want to try a different SD card and that the card is formatted as FAT32 and not as NTFS.

I am running the version of testmode that is posted in the "FAQ: Hacks & Modification :: READ BEFORE POSTING!" sticky thread. This is the exact link to the file: download/file.php?id=4529

The firmware on the unit is: 3.020100

I formatted the SD card FAT32 multiple times, and still it won't boot. What's weird is it places a new file onto the SD card when I put it into the unit called "device.nng" The only files I put on the SD card are the two folders in the compressed testmode.zip.

The SD card works because I put music on it and it shows up fine on the unit. When I format it FAT32 and use testmode it just doesn't work....

I'm going crazy trying to find a solution... I'm going to try a different 1GB SD card tonight and see if that works... I appreciate your help, any other ideas?

  5. First of all there is no X110BT. And you need to do a search on this forum in the future before starting a thread. That question has long been answered many times.

Sorry, didn't mean to come off that way. I meant the X910BT. I searched all over the forum for hours and read every single thread on testmode. It seems like i'm doing everything correctly.. this is a 8GB SD card, extracted both folders onto card. Put card in unit and turned ignition on. There is no copying of files... and no X anywhere. I even used WinRAR to extract files.

Do you know what the problem may be?

  6. Hi! I cannot get testmode to work using an 8GB SD card on the AVIC-X910BT. I tried formatting the SD card, extracting onto the SD card, made sure both folders were in root directory. When I pop the SD card in, the pioneer just boots normally.

There is one file that appears on the SD card's root directory after I take the card out from the unit that I did not transfer onto it. The file is called device.nng.

Anyone know what could be the problem? I do have the newest firmware on this. Your help is appreciated! Thank you.

  7. This problem happened to me today, the headunit was working like normal and i had stopped and then got back into my car and nothing but the subwoofers plays, the head unit works fine everything is normal, the door chimes work but there is no sound when switching stations (Beeping noise). The only noise i here is when the unit is starting up the speakers make a quick pop. PLEASE HELP, Thanks Alex

I have this SAME EXACT problem!!!! Tomorrow I'm putting in another headunit to see if it is the headunit or the amp or the wiring...

This is the thread I created about my problem.... viewtopic.php?f=58&t=31235

  8. Did you try and switch the RCAs between the two amps? That's a quick way to tell you if the amp is bad.

The other amp I have is a 500/1 for subs, so i'm not sure if I can take the speaker RCA's and plug them in that amp... can I?

Another problem I have been having is that the battery is going dead after not starting the car for about 10 hours. I got the battery tested and it came back as a good battery with no bad cells. The battery started to go dead when I started to have sound system problems.... I don't know if I should rip apart my trunk first or my dash and get the headunit out.

Could this be a problem with the headunit? Or is it likely with the amps?

  9. i'm having sound system problems and am unsure of what the problem is.

I dont know yet if it is the headunit or the amp, but the music is playing extremely low, like 20x lower than usual. My subs are playing at normal volume but you can't hear normal volume music. It comes out of the speakers extremely low.

I have a JL 300/4 amp controling four speakers and a JL 500/1 for two subs. JL amp lights are still green so I suspect it has something to do with the headunit. Also after a period of time when you turn the key of the car to accessory the speakers make like a quarter second beep noise, could that be a signal from the avic? Trying to narrow down problem to either headunit or amp before taking apart car to get to them both.

Could there be a problem with the headunit? Is there any way to test this without taking apart headunit and amp rack?

  10. the 3.5mm is definitely not sending video...there are 3 channels on a 3.5mm jack coming from any iphone...left/right and mic. video is definitely being sent through usb.

Video does output through the 3.5mm jack. There is no mic channel on the cable, it is video. The USB portion of the cable only supports control and charging.

Your right! The 3.5mm jack wasn't plugged in all the way so the audio would work, but video would never. Now the video works! Thanks so much!! I finally got a chance to check this after finding out i'm having sound system problems.

  11. Restore your iPhone and re-sync your content. Also make sure the AV cable is plugged in all the way into the female part of the cable coming off of the back of the unit.

Do you mean the female part of the USB cable coming out of the unit which also has the female part of the audio jack that connects to the CD-IU50V cable? Or do you mean the actual connection on the backside of the avic-z110bt?

  12. I have the same problem. I am using the Pioneer CD-IU50V cable and when I click on a video through the pioneer menu going through my iphone 3GS a black screen comes up. I can only hear audio but not video on the screen. It just stays black. Even when I put it in video mode, I try going to youtube and play a movie and the avic screen still stays black, you can only hear the youtube audio.

What could be wrong? Are there any settings that need to be turned on? Thanks!
