  1. Indeed. My Navigon used to say which side of the street destination is on... I got house numbers more or less where I want them, so I will post code. Still haven't figured out how to put a semitransparent background under them, though, like under the Current street. Building visibility is the same as 3D landmarks, but for more buildings. I.e. most of Chicago is modeled. Still doesn't quite work...
  2. 1. Got AVIC to show house numbers while travelling down the road. Surprisingly, iGO's xxx.HouseRight variable shows house to the left and vice versa, and TeleAtlas' house numbering seems to be somewhat off (depends on the area, of course). Code is simple, will post when happy with cosmetics. 2. Got SpeedCamera settings to show up and stick. European scripts would've been an easier starting point, but it was a good exercise. WIll post when it matches the rest in style. 3. Got Building visibility settings to show, but does not seem to work yet. Needs more work. 4. Found lots of inter
  3. I checked where this is called, and every state that displays the AV source, in none of the UI layers it uses is there any reference to AV pictures. I have a feeling that even if you put something in the position where the AV button is, AV will come up on top of it because it is drawn through a windows message to an external program, not as anything inside iGO...

Probably depends on the area where you are, too. In Chicago I usually get a decent name list after a while.
  5. Yes thats what i'm looking for, how do i reference the icon in KML...how do i even open a KML file ЛЬДы are just straight text files (XML of sorts). When you open the ЛЬД file (Notepad works fine, or you could use your preferred XML editor you will see something like this: icon20080828-215246.BMP Red Light Camera Red Light Camera .01xbd -96.731280, 43.546020 icon20080828-215246.BMP SD Sioux Falls poi-factory Jul09 08 tag is what specifies the bitmap iGO will u
  6. You could try this application for editing voice commands: http://forum.pocketnavigation.de/tid1117263-sid.htm (In German but I think the program is in English)...

In my experience, at least, you need to wait some time before station names come down...
  8. In pioneer_ini there is this section: [map] 3d_max_tiltlevel=6800 I believe 3d_min_tiltlevel is also a valid variable. The problem will be determining which way to change the value...
  9. Looking further in the setting file... Looks like our scripting friends commented out but did not remove quite a few extra setting options (that would've at least made sense if they wanted to save memory). There are settings there for building visibility (in addition to landmarks), Speedcamera warnings (I think this was requested here many times), extra MSN settings, Car Type selection etc. I'm going to see if I can hack some of these in tomorrow... but if anyone gets them in before me, I'm all ears...
  10. As far as I could find, iGO8 simply does not have "direction up" option for 2D map mode. May be if they update it, but not currently. Map tilt levels for 3D however can be set in SYS.TXT and/or pioneer.ini file...
  11. I would think it would be more interesting to have 700-900 models also show options available in 500 as well. The major (only) difference in scripts that are called to init here is that 749 brings up ui_SettingRoute2 layer from setting_800_480.ui file, and 746 brings ui_SettingRoute layer instead. I can't test it in the car right now (too rainy but adding these lines: to ui_SettingRoute layer (and possibly adjusting positions of other control elements) should allos 746 models to turn snap-to-road off.
  12. And more interesting stuff... http://www.ebay-pictures.com/gps/ talks about customizing HP IPAQ 310 which happens to run IGO on a 800*480 screen... Some useful stuff can be found there as well.
  13. I believe you need to have a folder named USERICON on the SD card. inside, you would put BMP files for the icon. KML file should have thу ico nreference.
  14. Landmarks (what AVIC shows) are the 3DL files. There are also 3DC files which are buildings in general. There are far more of them (i.e. Chicago seems to have may be 5-6 landmarks that I have seen so far, but all of downtown and most of surrounding areas are modeled in 3DC). PC version of iGO shows those 3DC files just fine, but so far I was not able to configure AVIC version to show them...
  15. If you have a KML file you could either import it from the AVIC itself (on the destination screen there is an icon to import from SD/USB) or go into the test mode and copy KML files into IGO\Content\Userdata\POI folder. Then open Manage POI screen on AVIC and select the icon you want.
  16. Are you sure you've turned on building display in Navi Settings/Visual/3D Map?
  17. Stephanie, Since you are good at it... Here's a ZIP with more advanced skins, including ones for 800*480 resolution. Nice things included, like speedcam control etc.
  18. Somehow I doubt that just some OGG files will be useful for real TTS. It is far more complicated than that. Some googling for iGO TTS voices leads to more realistic possibilities, of no KITT... I am going to see what it takes to install them, but they are made up of multiple files none of which is either WAV or OGG...
  19. Stranger and stranger... if you look in CONFIG folder in DATA.ZIP, there is devices subfolder that has PIONEER746xx and PIONEER749xx INI files. Which look almost identical except for some sound settings. I would agree with Stephanie that 749 is the F500, and Pioneer reuses BMPs and scripts among all the in-dash units and determines what features are available by the actual hardware present...
  20. That's strange... I have an F90, MSN is working, but my SYS.TXT says: [device] type="PIONEER746UC" I also have SYS_746UC.TXT file (same device type)...
  21. default.viz file seems to be interesting. Here's one skin file that has better POI information. nopanel08406c.zip
  22. That would be very nice to have those functions activated! I am looking for them. So far I found skins that have them active, but need to find what changes to what file were made... I also want to find the Navigon color scheme...
  23. If you have something other than F90, can you check what your SYS.TXT says? I imagine that pioneer.ini file in project_config can have some overrides, too...
  24. There are quite a few guides, even though none seems to give complete descriptions. The two that I listed work. I am trying to find more tips from the pretty active Russian IGO-skinning community... It is definitely possible to have IGO show POI names on screen, as well as give info when tapping on POI icons, for example.
  25. According to SYS.TXT on mine, 746 is F90-bt. Check in IGO's directory, it has both sys.txt and model-specific sys_7XX.txt files.
