  1. Thanks for all your work guys. Very appreciated...quick question though...

Can I update from 70 to 90 and skip the 80, or does it have to be done in succession?

As long as this update isn't much different than the past editions, and I doubt it is, there won't be an issue updating from 70 to 90.

    Download and update

  2. Easiest update I've had so far. (80MT was a goddamn nightmare) Thanks to SWDW and others.

Burned without issue on first copy and updated my D1 without issue. Haven't really noticed anything new yet, still doesn't have some of the new restaurants around here. Can't believe they charge so much for these updates, guess I can't complain...

Thanks again to everyone. See you next year!

  4. Depending on where you got your iso, you may have the wrong file to use with the D1. The most common CNDV80MT file out there is the one bundled with the N5. It came out before the official release and works fine with a D3, but doesn't have the proper files for the D1. From what you're saying, it sounds like you have that iso. I ruined a handful of perfectly good DL DVD's as well. There's no special trick to burning the disk, you just need the correct file.

  5. Small Update:

The disk that I burned with IMGburn updated just fine, but wouldn't load routes and had glitches when tracking my position across the map.

Just re-burned using MagicISO and things seem to be working much better. Probably just a bad burn on the first disk, but if anyone else is having issues, it's not the original ISO that's the problem.

  6. First off, I want to thank jlong1987 and rotun for helping everyone in the forum!

I was able to download the West ISO. Used IMGburn to create a disk at 1x using Memorex DVD+R DL.

Inserted the disk into my D1 and it went to the update screen almost immediately. Watched the status bar fill to completion. D1 restarted on its own. Booted up to Pioneer splash screen, but wouldn't load the map. Reset the D1 manually by pushing the small reset button. System restarted, and after a few moments of loading *presto*, the map screen came up and has new streets around me.

Thanks again to AVIC411 and all you like minded Pioneer owners!

Now get out there and start updating![/u][/b]

  7. The west files are definitely the N5 disk, so if you have a D1 don't bother. It's the same iso that started in this thread.

Weren't there a string of people who said they got their 80MT disks? Still no real 80MT torrents? Man, this has been a long time coming...not complaining, just saying...

  8. WEST FTP FILES ARE THE SAME N5 FILES POSTED IN OTHER THREAD

Just as an FYI to all D1/2 owners, I have confirmed that the west files on the FTP server will not work for you. It's the same N5 ISO that was posted in the other thread (for those of you who have been following this thing for a while now). From what I've read in this forum, it seems to work for the D3. So if you have one, make yourself a back up disk. For all of us D1ers...it's back to the waiting game for the official 80mt disk.

Big thanks to jlong1987. Even though it didn't work for me, it did download fast. Can we count on you for the official CNDV 80MT release?

  9. Can anyone confirm if the West files are the actual 80MT files, or is it the N5 bundled disk files? I didn't have time to double check over the weekend, but burnt another DVD with the same results of "insert appropriate disk" in my D1.

Just a word of warning to all you D1ers out there, if this is the N5 disk it WILL NOT work in your D1, but will update the D3. We need the official CNDV-80MT release to update.

I'll check these FTP Files against the west N5 files that were out a month ago later tonight and post some results. But from a glance over the weekend, they appeared to be the same file structure.

  10. An interesting idea, but I doubt that you're going be able to do all that splicing and get it to work. Your best bet is to run the ipod through the xbox through your nav unit. The 360 is ipod compatible (after you download the app from xbox live) and you can navigate through your ipod via the 360 dashboard that would be displayed on your nav screen. You're not going to be able to control your ipod through the nav unit, but you could get the 360 remote.

  11. Gnat, where have you been this whole time?? Wish I knew what you did, I'd still have a DL disk left over to try out copying the 70 file over to this one. Thank you for giving your insite to this one, I'm totally in the dark in regards to the file structure.

What do you think, is it worth it to try and do this? Or just wait for the 80 release? With the map updated, does the nav track okay? or is it all over the place?

  12. NavyMike192 - Fellow D1 owner, very interested in adjusting these files to get this iso to work. Did you change both/replace both of the files mentioned in GnatGoSplat's post? But I guess this confirms that it's not the actualy 80mp release from pioneer. Might be why they're waiting so long to release this years update, even they're having trouble getting it to work on all DVD models.
