Sorry I guess I wasn't clear on the issue. I would like to control the playing of music from my D3 and not have to use the ipod. When I plug it into the D3 I get the "use ipod" message, but would like to see and do everything through the D3 and leave the ipod in my glovebox. Any thoughts? It has the 1.3 firmware on it and its the 5.5 ipod. Thanks

I have the ipod 5.5 video and when I plug it into my D3 all I get is the "see ipod for full control" message. How can I get around this issue?

I recently bought a D3, had it installed by someone who has installed these in the past. All connetions were soldered and taped. The system worked great for a couple of weeks. Now the sound cuts in and out...out mostly. The screen displys perfectly and all functions seem to be working. Just no sound. Anyone have any thoughts?
