Pioneer covered mine even though it was an Ebay item. I don't think that they really keep track or research items that are sent for service... The square trade rep told me that they did not have to pay for the repair... Pioneer said it was still under warranty Woo Hoo!!.. Already got my unit back and everything is working just fine... Hmm wondering if I should try modding again???

I shipped it off to Pioneer via the Square Trade warranty to be repaired, and I just got off the phone with the Square Trade agent and he let me know that they didn't even have to pay out on it, because Pioneer stated that the unit was still under the warranty and repaired the unit. Cool Huh! Right now I'm not too confident about modding my unit though lol..

Yea I might try that, but I bought my unit on Ebay and Pioneer doesn't honor Ebay items. The good part is that I purchased the Ebay warranty for my unit that they are going to cover it. I spoke to Pioneer and for those that think that the warranty won't be honored if you purchase from certain online dealers here is what the Pioneer rep told me.. She said to just send it in with a detailed description of the problem and they'll fix it, because alot of people misplace receipts, or receive the items as "gifts" they cannot verify where the item was purchased so they just go by the serial n

I'm positive, but then again if other members have been able to complete this mod I've must've done something different.. The part where I think I screwed up was I copied the entire contents of the folder which included the compressed data file, along with 5 font files.. I've never used my CD Player..

which file? I have the entire flash disk folder backed up on my PC

Yup tried that too.. The darn thing just won't boot, also tried unplugging from the power source..

These are the instructions I followed: For those that have asked me for my current data.zip file... here it is. I have replaced the standard tahoma and tahomabd font with Comic Sans MS and I have added the star trek fonts finalnew and finalold. I have included all the fonts I used in my zip file. Unzip the zip file to your SD card and copy all of the included files to your My Flash Disk\APL2\iGo folder on your nav and you should be set to go. Nope, I've even tried, re-adding the testmode folders onto my SD to see if my unit will boot up with no luck.. It's weird cause the unit will only stay on for like 20 seconds then it shuts down.

I extracted the items from this zip file. There was a Data file that already had the mods that I wanted along with some font files. I copied the files from that folder with the data file in it into the My Flash Disk\APL2\iGo folder
