Look around for the latest licence files and hacked ezrider. I had a few problems with that on mine. i believe I ended up using the ezrider in the x910bt backup, posted here somewhere. If that doesn't work. Restore you unit back to your original backup. and start again. There are so many file to change and move and mod you might just be missing one. Real hard to tell what is missing.

Do not wait for the splash screen. When the unit is completly off, push a pen into the rest hole and hold the power button (bottom left) for 5 to 10 sec. The blue screen should show up.

Every time i turn the car on the volume is reset to 10 |(max is 20) i have the preout going into a pioneer HU. The preout level is significantlly lower than the fm/cd/mp3 line level so I need the 500 preout set to max. Is there a way to modify the boot level to max? Just a thought.

All the sys files are included but you have to rename the appropiate one to work ith your unit. ours is the 749UC. so rename that file to sys. all the others are not used by the unit. I didn't loose my TTS, so not sure on that problem. make sure you replaced the entire apl2 folder.

I got 2.006 loaded but it wont drop the please wait loadingsystem message. any thought?

Swapped the base map and wyoming files. Nav still loads fine but whyoming doesnt show up on the maps list in Menu>Settings>Nav settings>About>Maps

Back on the car dock I was able to get back in to the service menu and restore the PLT files from the Pioneer F500BT 2.0 release. Back to square on but not bricked. What bypass are yall speaking of? I am using a modified data.zip with software bypass, speed set to 128. Is that it?

Possibly Bricked after Win CE upgrade. When I plug in the AC power cable BT light illuminates. Power button does nothing, one press or holding down. CAnnot get back into Service menu either. Going to test on the car dock, but not looking good.

Been working on this for a while and reading alot. To get to the service menu hold Power and Reset for 5 sec. Passcode is MAP,MAP,MENU,Enter (center of joystick),MENU,Enter Once in Service Menu the reset button is the only way of navigating. Short push move through options. Push and hold for 1/2 sec selects option. After sucesfully updating I get to reboot now message. hold power and reset to reboot. Unit powers on shows slash screen and turns off.

Does anyone know how to update WinCE on the F500BT, we dont have an eject botton? Thanks.
