  1. 12V is right, but that adapter puts out 2A and if the f90bt can't handle 2A, you could easily fry something and make the unit worthless. I am sure all will be ok, but it's just something you may want to look into just to be sure. Also, to power it correctly you will need to make sure you hook up the red [power wire] and the yellow [acc wire] wired to the positive of the plug; and the black [ground] to the negative of the plug. Sure you already knew that though. I really don't see why you want to test it at home first off, no reason it shouldn't work...unless you just want to play wit
  2. Just got off the phone with pioneer after waiting on the phone for a while. But this was a different guy and he said that the update is basically performance related. Boot-Up included, but he didn't know exactly what was going to be done to increase boot up. Also some bluetooth issues are going to be addressed, the blackberry staying connected is one of them. also said he knew nothing of a test mode lock out either. said that the update is something within the next month. Not sure if that is this month or next month. Said that if the testers find a problem, they have to recode the
  3. i talked to pioneer yesterday and the guy said that the only thing he knew for sure that will be in this fix is the problem with blackberry's and bluetooth. I asked specifically about a test mode lockout, but he said he didn't know. I hope they don't lock that. But he also said that he knows the update is soon, just not how soon. I am going to call again here in a few minutes just to ask about it and will post once I talk to them.
  4. well copying my files back fixed it. In your face Pioneer.
  5. no one willing to help? well im in the process of backing up to original files right now...hope that works. pioneer on the phone suggested sending it in, but 7-9 days without a radio in my car? please...i know i can get this fixed via knowledge here. oh, and he said the next update is soon, but not today. Only thing this guy knew for sure is that the blackberry bluetooth problem would be fixed. I mentioned if there was going to be a test mode lock out and he said he didnt know. =/
  6. So I have had my 90bt installed for about a week now, GPS worked great. Now it suddenly doesn't work today. I let it set outside with the car running for a good 20 minutes [while it was warming up] and never got a connection. Drove a consecutive 4 hours on the highway, before leaving set my destination and the bar went across setting route. Arrow never came up, and no satellites were connected from the GPS screen. Decided to just go ahead and go, and I checked a few times during the trip and never got it connected. Only mods I have done is removed the blue boxes and i have tried leetslau
  7. Heh, thanks. Funny thing is, is that it is only 600w RMS. Does pretty good for what they are though.
  8. I hope your sure about this cause now I am all excited.
  9. That audio player is only temporary, new audio/video player coming soon. Yeah, I can't wait. I understand your not going to have iPod support right yet, but MP3 support. Is that via SD, USB, or CD/DVD? Or all maybe. I would like to eventually take a 3.5" HDD and hook it up USB and give external power to it and just have my MP3's/Vids on taht, so USB support would be awesome. The whole point of a beta is to give feedback of apparent issues. I dont think anyone is trying to bother him with their problems. I think he is benefiting from all the end-user response. Thi
  10. So finally got my AVIC-F90BT installed and got my Alpine Type-S subs hooked up and tuned. In case anyone cares, here are a few vids I have posted on youtube. Check em out, rate, comment, question, whichever you want. Also, if you have any questions about subs/amps I can possibly help out, know a bit about that stuff. Well, enjoy. =] [NOTE-Camera isn't the greatest in the world so it couldn't pick up the loud low tones, hence why you hear silent spots. Also, the FPS of the camera isn't up to par with the vibrations the subs are causing, but still...you get the idea.]
  11. Wow...this thing is great. You have done some awesome things and I see myself using this from now on. Gonna buy me an 8 or 16GB SD card just to have this on. Get full TomTom maps and hopefully you get the Garmin working. My suggestion, the AV source thing is a tad small...increase size, maybe? Would be great to have a full working launcher like this, figure out how to run 3.5" hdd via usb and external power and store mp3's and vids on that. Would be an amazing unit then. Keep up the great work bro!
  12. Wow, where did you get for 500? I paid 769 for mine about a week ago...works great though [minus boot up]. But what kind of rebate did it have?
  13. Didn't know that. =[ The one thing I didn't try the search on, sorry. =/
  14. Has anyone found/made an emulator that we can use on our desktop PC to take the files from the AVIC and emulate it on our desktop PC? It would make testing new mod's so much quicker...instead of putting them on sd, booting test mode, doing mod, rebooting and waiting 2 minutes for it to reboot all the way. Anything at all?
  15. Here is a link to a post that I started earlier today about manually editing your contacts using SQLite. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18614 I have an HTC Touch (Sprint) and it wouldn't import my contacts so I did it all manually. Yeah, it took me a good 20 minutes to figure out SQLite and input all 63 of my contacts. I just changed it like: "John Doe (H)" for home "John Doe (W)" for work "John Doe (M)" for mobile my voice dial works great, contacts are nice and neat.
  16. Alright, thanks. Then I will just keep it tucked away til I feel like adding a back up camera.
  17. Sorry about just posting all over the forums, but this is my last question...and once it is solved, I will have everything hooked up, installed, and can start learning a few things and hopefully contribute to the mod scene. But I currently do not have my Reverse Wire tapped into the the Reverse light, or anything else actually. It's just not hooked up. And I do not have a back up camera, probably won't get one for a long time. Anyway, I know the book says the Reverse Wire also helps the Nav with it's position sometimes. Seeing as a person doesn't normally drive in reverse that much [i.
  18. Got em all done, once bluetooth connected, clicked contacts and they came up. "contact name (M)" or "contact name (H)" was a really good idea too, so now I know what phone number I'm calling. So I got my contacts working, basis of modding the unit, VSS hooked up, now all that leaves is that reverse wire. I'm not sure which wire on the tail light it goes to, so I didn't run it back there. It's hooked up to the back of the radio, but the other end is just rolled up under the carpet on the passenger side. So what does having that hooked up do anyway? I would assume make the back up camer
  19. So just went out to the car, popped in SD to boot up in test mode like normal, well music started playing right before the copy screen came up. Play from CD cause I was tuning my subs from music on cd last time i had avic regularly booted up. Just thought it was odd that CD played in test mode, volume knob worked, even the skip song by pushing left or right, worked.
  20. *Jump's up, run out to car to get empty file.* BRB, will give that a try.
  21. Yeah, my avic will create an empty .db but I have no idea what format I would need to place my contacts in there or how it should look. If I can get someone to upload their .db file, with like 2-4 contacts i can use my empty .db and copy that over, change names/phone type/number and go from there. If you understood what I just said.
  22. Alright, I can get that...is that what the file is named? I remember seeing my file in test mode, but of course it had nothing in it. But I can get my MAC address from my phone, if anyone knows exactly what I am to do with it.
  23. So I have a HTC Touch with WM6 and it sync's up nicely with my f90bt. But, I cannot transfer my contacts over. Total bummer...and what I want to do is find someone willing to copy their file from their Avic and send it to me so I can edit it, place my contacts in it using SQLite and then put it on my unit so I can have my contacts on there. I can't remember the exact location the file comes from on the Avic, but I do know that it is a .db file. Anyone help me out? If your worried about me getting your numbers or anything, just edit the file and xxxxxxxxxx your numbers. I just need t
  24. Hey fiction, I just got my f90bt installed and I have an HTC Touch [sprint] running WM6 and when I try to copy contacts over, it says no data or something...but the bluetooth works, calls work, everything else. So I was going to just take the .db file [one from the avic that stores contacts] and use SQLite to edit them, but I have no idea what format they are or anything. Anyway you could possibly copy your .db from your avic, [edit to take your numbers out or whatever you want] and send it to me so I can use that, maybe? Would be awesomely nice of you.
  25. Chadodes, just reading this and thinking about the original reasoning...it erases what you put in program files because that is a temp folder that is created when booting into test mode. Flash Drive is where you need to put it if you want to save it and have it not delete on reboot. If there is not enough room on flash Drive, what you need to do is [while in test mode] click Start, then click Control Panel, then click Memory. Click on the second tab, there should be a slider bar. Moving that to the right will enable more storage space, but less virtual memory that the system can opera
